So I am new to this whole ecig thing. I just got my wisdom teeth out so right now I'm struggling with not being able to have an analogue cigarette. A few specifics about myself before I get to the questions.

I have always smoked menthol cigarettes, whether it be crushes, marlboro menthols or camel menthols.
I am a fan of throat kick.
These are going to replace analogues for me completely.
I'm on a slightly tight budget.
I take care of my things very, very well.
These will mostly be for a college apartment, and the occasional smoke break after class.

Now to my questions.

I have been leaning more towards a 510 after what I have been reading about them. Do they offer a decent enough throat kick?
Has anyone tried mint, and is it refreshing like a menthol? I know e-cigs will never taste like an analogue, I just like the minty flavor.
Where can I buy the cotton things that go in the filter, if I wanna buy a 10 pack of filters and juices to just keep filling?
And how many atomizers/batteries should I buy?

Thanks :D

What is your price range? You can definately get some good menthol like juice. I am currently awaiting my 510, but all the stuff I heard and read sounds like a winner. you can ride your 5 free carts for like.... ever. You can get poly fill at Walmart for less then $4 and enough to tide you over for like...ever.

Only reason I asked about your price range is that janty is offering the Janty stick for $79.99 and im sure that would be without a doubt the "throat kick" your looking for. Im thinking hard in getting one. I mean, it has inexpensive replacement batterys, a mini usb for charging, AND it works as a pass through... HOT if ya ask me.

Its also good to get a few backups of each atty/batterys

I would imagine your gonna spend about $50-100 getting your self nicely set up.

I say YES! to the 510. I think it's a great starter model, as long as you go in with your eyes wide open. It is true, the battery life isn't the greatest compared to some (only about an hour), and compared to some models, the flavors may not come through as pure as some, but that's something you won't notice, having never vaped before LOL. Throat hit is great, IMO.

I wasn't a menthol analog user, but I have used mint/menthol liquid and I really like it. I think I just like having the lil' extra throat kick it provides, plus the minty flavor it leaves in my mouth.

The cotton things for the filler, aka stuffing, - well, that's probably the most debated issue of all and a search for the perfect stuffing will continue until the end of time LOL Off the top of my head, I can't think of where you'd look for the debates, so I'll look after I post this and edit that information back in here.

How many to buy: Most suppliers sell the 510 with 2 batteries & 2 attomizers. You will want at least that, to give it a try and make sure you'll like it. If you do, get a few more of each. When they die, they pretty much die on the spot without warning, so you'll want to be prepared. And most suppliers ship via priority mail, so you'll have the items in 2 days (normally).

Since money is a priority, what I'd suggest is purchase a starter kit that comes with like I mentioned: 2 batteries and 2 attomizers.
If you like that, then go back and purchase at least 2 more of each (TIP: compare the price of buying 2 of each -vs- another starter kit. Sometimes, the starter kit will only be a couple dollars more, but you'll end up with another charger & you never know when that will come in handy!!) and be sure you purchase a PCC. It's about the size of a pack of analogs and it's a must have to keep a fresh battery with you at all times.

And I can't stress this enough: be sure to listen to the doc and do NOT smoke, use a straw or do any sucking until given the ok! It sounds like you are trying your best not to have that analog, but trust me - you do not want to create dry socket! (just had to enforce that LOL)

Looks pretty good! I would like to say, that is a good bit of juice for your 1st purchase. I would maybe dich a lil liquid and the extra carts for now... 2 of each extra batt/atty is a nice start. Depending on how much you smoked each day, you should judge the amount of liquid, however, more the merrier... you will use it. maybe get several 10-15 mil bottles to try some out before you buy 2 30 mil bottles of something you may not like... No expert by any means but just thinking about some of the juice that i WON'T touch ever again just sitting on my desk....

I think you should go for the janty stick, an extra atty or 2 and some juice! OR maybe because I really want one and would live through you instead j/k:p

I just got my Janty Stick last week. With the atty it comes with, the 510 was still giving me a stronger throat hit. I was told afterwards that some of the other 801 attys (non-Jantys) give a little more kick. I haven't got the funds up yet to try that, so I'm not sure.
But you are right in your assumptions: the stick is the total package for vaping. It is really is nice having a battery that lasts & lasts, and a cart that holds a lot more liquid has been nice. The passthrough/charger that comes with it is a sweet deal too. It's a great investment. The only down side so far, is the throat hit after using the 510 for 2 months.

In thinking about it, and this is strictly what would work for me - I'd still start out with the 510 w/PCC and if you discover that vaping is for you, then get a stick in a month or two. Both are totally worth they're weight in gold. I'm just thinking that still having that analog feeling in your fingers the first few weeks will help make the change over from analogs to e-cigs, then you'll be more mentally ready for the stick.
But like I said - that's just my thinking. You really can't go wrong either way!

I'm just so excited for both of you!! :D

Oh, I'd also like to add I'm from NJ. And am looking to get a passthrough, but do they have one for the 510?

Yes they do! another wonderful addition!!

Some will tell you not to use them on the computer; others have never had a problem.
I didn't want to take any chances, so I purchased a wall wart adaptor and also a car adaptor (for the cigarette lighter) for when I'm traveling.

Quick piece of advice:

If you end up ordering from Health Cabin, order some flat tip carts (they have them in white, no black for some reason). It's probably a matter of taste, but I recently fell in love with them, and you might compare them with the round ones.

For me, they feel better in my mouth, and I get both better flavor and can put more juice in them - don't ask me why, I don't know, I'm just a silly newb, but it's so. :)

Good luck.

Briar.

Ordered it :) Got about 5 different liquid flavors, maybe 4. Can't really remember. One extra atomizer, the starter kit, and flat tips. I was gonna buy the PCC but I ran out of money :[. I'll get it from a different seller.

Grats brother!! Welcome to wonderful world of Vaping!! What flavors did ya get... besides menthol :p
