Like most V4L customers I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my kit and found 2 sampler cartos along with my order.

As time has passed I have found that my subsequent orders have come with outdated stock that utilizes plastic and glued caps which are no longer even available for purchase. From my last 4 orders, 3 have been accompanied with same 2 samplers of Parliment/American Menthol and 1 came with 2 samplers of Pumpkin...is it a coincidence?

I just toss them in the garbage now without a second thought, yet I have read others that seem to consistently receive currently selling different flavored Premium and Wow cartos

What gives? Is there some special list for some and not others? How do I get on that list?

Now I know what is coming in response to this post....

"Dude, they don't have to give out samplers at all."
"V4L rocks and all you can do is criticize them about free samplers"
"Guess some people are just never satisfied"
"Wow, what a jerk, I hate every fiber of your being and wish ill for you"

So let me say this before I am pelted, I think V4L is a great company which is why I am a loyal customer that hands out their cards, refers them to friends, and plugs them here on a regular basis. I also enjoy the fact that they give their customers the opportunity to try some different flavors as an added bonus to their orders. Because the samplers are free my latest experience in no way tarnishes V4L or my support of them as a company.

All I am saying is that recently it appears that they are simply dumping old outdated stock with my orders which defeats the entire purpose of trying new flavors. Anybody else receiving the same Parliment/American Mentol combinations as samplers lately?

Had second thoughts, and decided to delete my post. My apologies.

I've been getting mostly old stock or sale flavors, myself, though a few of them I liked (one even became one of my favorites...Egg Nog...was scared of the thought of "smoking" egg nog at first but tried it out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised that it tasted like a spicy French vanilla. I promptly ordered a box. Sadly, looks like they're out of the 36mg now, so I guess I'll have to buy the juice and fill my own when I wind up craving that flavor again.)
I have requested the past couple times I placed an order that any samples they send me not be tobacco/menthol tobacco flavors, as I haven't liked any of the ones I've tried. (I made sure to explain that I'm grateful for samples no matter what they are, but it would be more beneficial to me and their company to send me flavors I'll be more likely to enjoy, as I'll actually wind up using those flavors instead of wasting them and I do review the flavors on their website, not to mention I'd be more likely to purchase a box.) That hasn't seemed to make a difference, though...I still got tons of Nuports, a Dunhall, an RY4, and only one non-tobacco carto (Spiced Cider, which I liked) with those last two orders.

^ That just goes to show how much taste buds can vary. We just got Spiced Cider in our last shipment and both hubby and I turned our noses up and banished it to the back of the drawer. :D

I've gotten a couple repeats of Nuport, and Mint Julep, especially... but I normally order menthol flavors, or at least one minty flavor... so I always thought they were keeping within the 'range' of what I ordered.

Yep. I thought the Cider was pretty decent...kinda fruity, floral, and spicy all at the same time. Went well with tea, IMO.

I hated the Nuport. I did just order some of the Mint Julep, though. I liked the mint part of the Nuport...it was just whatever they added to it to try to achieve a tobacco taste was not good to my taste buds...tasted like some kind of nasty cough medicine to me. But since Mint Julep is a minty one that isn't supposed to taste like a cig but a drink, and is in the Dollar Deals, I figured I'd try it.

You never know when those unwanted bonus carts could come in handy. I'm not a menthol fan, but had a stockpile of nuports, cool, and other menthol flavors I'd received for free. I have a smoker friend who loves menthol, so I loaned him one of my batts and gave him all the bonus menthols I'd received, and he took it home and fell in love. Has since ordered his own V4L kit, and is off analogs as far as I know

I was not a tobacco fan, but when they sent me samples..I found out I liked them! Who knew!
As for old stock..free is free, the purpose is just a thank you for shopping with us.
Save them up and pass them along in the carto swap or PIF.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Never let a good cart go to waste.

BP, before I venture further on the topic let me say, you're a cool guy and I really enjoy reading your threads. Your funny, gracious, and articulate which are rare qualities to find these days.

For anybody that has missed the OP and is confused from the incorrect term of "free samplers" please note the corrected term "bonuses". I apologize for the mass confusion and I hope this clarifies the proper syntax for further discussion. Thank you so much Maxx for clearing up all the confusion that has surrounded this subject.

BP, I would be delighted to get Nuports or any other non-first gen plastic glued on cap to give to a friend. I too have loaned out a battery with a couple of freshly juiced Cool Cartos (Wowboy, Kamel) to friends and turned them onto to V4L. One friend just ordered his first kit over the weekend to get in on the VapeFest discount.

However, I am very selective over what flavors and type of Carto to start them off with. After all, if you give somebody a flavor you wouldn't dare vape yourself, is discontinued, or old stock it may turn them off to vaping right out of the gate. Us smokers which are now currently ex-smokers are a peculiar bunch and you know how first impressions are.

Keep up the reviews, I always enjoy reading them.

Every cart that V4L makes tastes "good" to somebody. Otherwise they would never have been mass produced. Somebody had to taste it and go "Yeah, this is pretty good. Let's make more!"

My friend vapes flavors I don't find particularly good, and he says that he couldn't vape my flavors unless he's totally out of his stuff. We both used to smoke the same cigs, and we like the same foods. If I had only given him the flavors I liked to get him converted, he would still be smoking. But I had a couple freebie cartos that I didn't like and let him try those, and he's been vaping for almost a year now.

My father-in-law ordered some Tobacco/Clove from TV, and I found it to be pretty bad. But, he loves it.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I detect a certain ammount of sarcasm there. Fact is...it is not a terminology issue. The cartos are gifts from V4L...which I think is a very nice gesture. The polite thing to do when presented with a gift is to accept it graciously.

I've gotten bonus cartos that contain nic, which I can't use. I save those for when someone wants to convert to vaping or in case I see someone on the boards who is in dire need of some to tide them over. Only the former situation has happened so far.

The 0 nic ones I give to my brother as I don't vape too many flavors. So they go to good use here and I'm thankful for them!

I know that this post wasn't directed towards me, but just to clarify: I don't know about everybody else in this thread, but I personally am very grateful for all the freebies no matter what. I definitely don't mind the old stock. And I only made a request for non-tobacco/menthol flavors if possible because it would be more useful to me and might actually lead to me buying a box.

Fact is Maxx neither your or Magilla ever read the original post. Here is another fact, nobody likes a self-anointed syntax or grammar policeman "ammount" really??? Are you ssssure thhats hhhow itts speelllled?

I clearly and tactfully outline several caveats stating that I not only appreciate the "free bonuses", but I appreciate and applaud the great staff at V4L. Instead of contributing to the post with a simple remark like, "Strange I never get old carts" or "It happens from time to time" or "Funny, I noticed that too" Maxx has chosen to hijack a rather harmless post and attack me.

I did not post some alarming title in the General Discussion or New Member Forum, nor did I slam anyone at V4L at anytime. I am simply making an observation of a trend, a trend which others have experienced lately as well. It's not really that big of a deal since as I noted in the original post, that "bonuses" are in fact....free.

So Candy darlin, don't you worry that pretty head of yours over any of this. This is a case of a board veteran and minion that decided they were going to take this opportunity to teach a board newb a lesson. Well, they just learned the hard way that I am no newb to forums and just got their back porch painted red. This is why it's important to always read the original post so you don't end up looking like a board bully.

That being said, I am an "original poster" on several huge forums. I understand how things are amongst "the family" that is created when boards first start and how things change over time. I have chased down and scolded my fair share of newbs so I understand the mindset.

So Maxx and Magilla....friends? No reason why we can't be, it's just a vaping site and exchanges should always be light-hearted.

Dari I generally agree with what you are saying,

"Every cart that V4L makes tastes "good" to somebody. Otherwise they would never have been mass produced. Somebody had to taste it and go "Yeah, this is pretty good. Let's make more!"

But this is the flipside of that which is "this did not sell well at all". So even if I gave my 3 discontinued American Menthols to somebody else that loved it, they could never order it in the future.

Again, I agree with MK "free is free" but I think we can all agree that current flavors provide us all with an opportunity to discover new flavors we might not have shown interest in if it weren't for a bonus sampler. Such discoveries are mutually beneficial to us and V4L.
