I was looking for snus yesterday, and ran across this site. General ® Snus | The Original Swedish Snus ™ by Swedish Match ©

They offer free samples of five different snus types. I entered all the information, and hopefully will be receiving them soon. Has anyone tried this stuff before? Is general snus a good name? I'm trying to find something my fiancee can use to help quit analogs, and she likes the camel mellow snus, but she could use something with a little more kick.(and a lot better value)

I'll let everyone know what we think when they get here.

I tried to sign up, but apparently "the laws of [my] state prohibit the distribution of free tobacco products by mail", which I've never heard of, but we do limit direct mail of alcohol...

Of course, the site asked my state first, then had me fill in all my info BEFORE it told me that I couldn't get anything for free.

That's sneaky and dishonest.

Well, I couldn't wait. So I called one of the tobacco shops listed on the site, and they have all flavors in stock. $6.81 per tin... Plus the guy at the shop gave us the free sampler pack so we can try them all. I got one tin of the General original portion for me, and a tin of the General mini mint for Sherry. Sherry likes the mini mint, so I will definitely be ordering more for her. The original portion to me tastes like copenhagen. Definitely an aquired taste, but I like it. I generaly don't like mint, so I'll have to find something for every day, but at least now I have something to compare things to.

Wow 6.81 per can is the 24 portion? I get that for 3.50 a can from www.getsnus.com

General is one of several brands from the manufacturer Swedish Match. Good stuff for sure.

I'd looked at that freebie site quite some time ago, Oregon is not on there either, very limited.

Anyone looking through this thread take note!

getsnus.com has a Free Offer for 1st time customers. You can choose between a sampler pack or a can of the General Wintergreen. I think they charge a buck for shipping.

If your curious about snus the sample pack for a buck is a great way to find out if it's something you want to pursue.

Being OTD this guy has some wisdom. I think if your not in a hurry tring the sweedish stuff free is the way to go. Camel doesnt have a very good nic hit and really doesnt taste very good. Maybe talk to some of the guys on the smokless boards, tell us what you like in taste and get some reccomendations, just a thought. I personally like snus better than eni.
