I have tried many different liquids, from tobaccos to fruity flavors, to some that made me gag. Every new flavor I try seems to have it's own special place, but others have a way of rising to my top 5 favorites. Here's my review on FSUSA's applewood and PureCig.

Applewood, 18mg, 50/50

I know that it's always best to let the juice sit for a while, but you know what, I hate waiting. I'm not a patient person, so I always put a few drops on my coil right away when I receive new liquids.

I tried Backwoods Brew's applewood, so I have a small basis for comparison for this particular flavor. BWB's flavor is a crisp apple flavor, with a stronger real wood undertone. FSUSA's applewood is a different sort, almost taking the name out of context. It tastes like an apple that has been cooked on a piece of wood. It's delicious, in its own way. Definitely more "foody" than BWB's version, which is more earthy.

Throat hit is great, flavor is great, and as always, vapor production is awesome.

Comparing the 2, I wish that FSUSA's flavor had more woodiness to it.

PureCig. 18mg, 50/50

I was looking for a straight-up "cigarette" flavor, and not necessarily a "tobacco" flavor. I wanted something that really had a dirtiness to it, something that reminds me of a hot, burning cigarette. I was looking for a gnarly smoke experience, one that leaves me gasping for air. Well, this is as close as it gets (so far) in my search for a strong, no-filler cigarette flavor. TH is rough, the liquid burns the tongue a little, and the flavor is like that of a burning cigarette. No fun earthy tones like Wyatt Earp and American Spirit, oh no, this liquid is meant for a serious smoke experience. Sweetness is almost non-existent, but the flavor is very satisfying in its own special way. Reminds me of the times I rolled my own cigarettes. No filter, baby

Throat hit is rough but satisfying. Flavor is spot-on for a cigarette, and vapor production, as with all of FSUSA's liquids, is excellent.

Conclusion

My top 5 favorite flavors so far are:

FSUSA's Wyatt Earp
FSUSA's Cappuccino Smooth
FSUSA's American Spirit
BWB's Applewood
and pushing it's way into number 5, is FSUSA's PureCig.

FSUSA's applewood isn't one of my most favorites, but it is definitely a good vape. Definitely worth a try.

My girlfriend bought the FSUSA applewood on sale for me for Christmas, so I enjoy it on a flavor level as well as on a sentimental level.

I'm thinking about buying some more Backwoods Brew applewood, but the big problem I have with it is that the flavor faded dramatically from when I first bought it. I bought a 30mL bottle and blew through it in almost 2 months (tried to save it), and by the time I was done, the flavor was almost completely gone. I never have that problem with FSUSA's liquids. I have a bottle of Tiramisu from 3 months ago, and it's still as good as new.

If BWB's applewood could maintain its flavor for longer than 30 days, I would buy it again without hesitation, but seeing as it faded to almost no flavor, I don't see a reason to buy it, at least not in 30mL bottles.

After a few days of steep time, the PureCig is improving a bit more, and the Applewood is revealing the faintest of smokey wood tones. The wood is there, but it's hiding. Is there a way to accelerate the steep process?

The only thing I can think of is to keep it out of the cold for a few days. That is on the assumption that you keep your juices in the fridge or something similar. Maybe someone else has a better tip?

Give FSUSA's Applewood about 3 weeks steep time. I know it's hard but try it. You'll really taste the wood in it. Don't refrigerate your flavored juices. The flavoring will spoil.

Actually I've never have had a problem with my flavors spoiling by keeping them in the fridge, and I've been vaping for close to 2 years. However, I do let them come to room temp before I vape them.

Great reviews. My mother wanted something as close to a 'real' cig smoke as possible and she loves Purecig. I like it,too because of the rough throat hit you mentioned. That's an excellent way to describe it. TH is very important to my vaping experience, moreso than large amounts of visible vapor. I also think it makes a good 'base' vpae with a few drops of something else like Hypnotic Mist, Applewood, or Virginia.

FSUSA is awesome because they always send a sample of a liquid w/your order. Great business tactic, because we have purchased from nearly every sample we've gotten. They really seem to guess what you will like based on what you order and that is what real customer service is all about.

Their Applewood or Woodapple or whatever is very good, and I tend to shy away from 'flavored' juices. the woody part of it makes it still feel like a real smoke and the apple in it is not too overpowering.
