Hello once again folks and welcome back for today's review of a dual 18650 kit from Freemax called the Maxus Max Kit. The output wattage range is 5-168 watts with 0.7-8.4 voltage output as well. The Maxus Max is a Pod Mod having no 510 connection and has a large 5ml Pod with Massive sized coils for it. This is a very compact dual 18650 mod that might be the smallest dual 18650 yet. There are 6 power modes including 3 TCR settings that lead me to believe more coils will be introduced soon and hopefully a rba Pod as well. There's a lot to go over folks so lets start with some information on the Maxus Max 168W Kit prior to my review.

Packaging for the Maxus Max Kits is done very nice, after opening the box top you are greeted with the mod in it's foam cutout with a ribbon laid underneath for easy removal, the Pod, 2nd coil, type-c charge cord, user manual, warranty card and warning card are under the mod.
Picking the device up I noticed it's weight of 200 grams, not a lightweight for sure, all corners and edges are rounded off for a very comfortable feeling in the hand. The 2 Kits I received have a flat matt paint finish to them which means no fingerprint magnet.
Both colors look very nice, along 1 side of the device is the firebar done in a silver color with the other side having nothing, I think another non-functioning silver bar should have been placed on the bare side to even out the look of the device. I was very happy to see a firebar on the Maxus Max because all that is needed to fire it is a squeeze when held in the hand.
Batteries are inserted from the bottom of the device, the battery door feels very secure when the batteries are installed and in the time of testing the devices I have not had a accidental opening of it on either one. There are 3 horizontal tabs that assist you when opening or closing the battery door, 6 ventilation holes are on the door as well.
Correct battery polarity symbols are very clearly marked on the battery door itself with no polarity markings or symbols inside the battery tubes, door polarity markings are sufficient.
Although it serves no function other than aesthetics the raised Maxus logo on the back of the device looks very nice. I think Freemax did a great job designing the Maxus Max.
The Maxus Max ships out with the MX-2 DUAL MESH 0.2Ω coil pre-installed in the 5ml pod, the much smaller in diameter MX-1 SINGLE MESH 0.15Ω coil will give you more juice capacity in the pod because of it's smaller diameter.
Both coils are very large but the MX-2 being a dual coil really increases the diameter of the coil therefor decreasing the liquid capacity of the pod a bit when installed. As you can see in the pictures below the MX-2 is almost as big as the pod.
The Maxus DL Pod uses a side fill located toward the bottom of the pod and like most pods do it has a rubber gasket that covers the fill port, there is no marking on the rubber gasket telling you which side to pull up for opening (pull up on the right side). Once opened for filling the rubber gasket can be rotated out of the way when filling. The fill port is very large for just about any bottle tip, a glass dripper tip is iffy. The drip tip is proprietary but very comfortable to use. If you like a lot of airflow the Maxus DL Pod will keep you smiling as it's very airy wide open but can be closed down for a great RDL vape as well, airflow is smooth across the board on all settings. I will say that the magnets used on this pod are by far the strongest I've come across on any device with a magnetic pod connection.
The display screen is perfect for anyone with vision problems as the wattage, voltage and ohms are displayed very large on the screen, the green unlocked symbol and red locked symbol as well as the dual battery bars are located at the top, and although not as large as the wattage are easy to read, the power mode your in is centered.
There are 4 background colors that you can customize to your liking as well.

USING THE MAXUS MAX KIT
As I mentioned earlier this device is very weighty once batteries are installed and the pod is filled the total weight is 294 grams which for me makes it a desk Pod Mod during summer but in winter it easily becomes a Pod Mod to be carried in a coat pocket.
Airflow wide open is so massive that you are able to easily breathe through the airflow slots, you air lovers are really going to like it, it's way too airy for me wide open but closed down to halfway or even a bit more it becomes a great RDL airflow that is very smooth at any setting I put it.
This is a Freemax product so I knew flavor should be great and it is, a well flavored saturated vape with more than enough clouds to make anyone happy. When I used the dual MX-2 mesh coil I was fine at a wattage of 75 but found 82 watts to be my sweet spot.
Using the MX-1 mesh was good as well but in my opinion the dual is more suited to my style of vaping, 68 watts proved to be my sweet spot on this coil.
As far as the other power modes go the Bypass and VPC worked very well as they should but I'm a straight wattage vaper and don't use those modes ever. I don't do TC either but there is a coil with 316SS for those that do vape in TC but sold separately. With this being a Pod Mod and not having a 510 connection I wonder why Freemax includes NI,TI and 3 TCR modes in the power modes, maybe they plan on coming out with other coils that have those metals in them.
Anyone that has used a Pod Mod knows that over time condensation can and does build up on the connection point of the Pod and metal ring on the device and sometimes it is a substantial amount but the Maxus Max has very tiny condensation after about 7 or 8 tanks of juice vaped. A good rule of thumb would be wipe it dry every 3 tankful's.
I an very pleased with the performance of the Maxus Max Kit in every way, I don't even mind the weight because it's more conformation to the solid build quality that Freemax put into this mod.
Although the Pod is fine and I've had no issues with it I really wish this had a 510 connection instead, the TC users would have been happy to see it also. All in all I consider the Maxus Max Kit to be a solid winner and I recommend it 100%. I would like to thank Tina and Freemax for providing these Kits for the purpose of this review.
THANK YOU
