Greetings all,

After lurking around here for quite some time I felt the need to register due to my new purchase; SX mini m class

I have been vaping for 6 months ( 6 months tobacco free :D ) and it became not only a healthier way of living, it also became a pleasant hobby as I also started to make my own liquid.
All in all, it's healthier, it's tastier, and it's fun!

Used istick 30w before, some unknown mech mod and now, with the m class, I guess I reached a very decent level of vaping in style

As a new member , I can't open topics in the battery section, so I'm guessing I can ask one of the many questions I have in this thread

Wondering which is the best, most optimal battery for the SX mini m class.
In my mech mod I used Samsung 25r, and since the SX now has temp control function and need ni200 wire which is to me a completely new ballgame I do have some doubts
I use ni200 coils around 0.07ohm and use kanthal on max wattage/powerful+ in RDA's as well, I was hoping to know whether the 25r are sufficient , safe to use.

I am about to buy 4 batteries, have searched the web all over, but nowhere there is info about the best option. 25r, VTC, LG HE2,... What to choose?? I have little knowledge about amps, mahs and such,.. If I had, I wouldn't have raised this question as I am just not sure ;)

Glad I finally took the time to register, good to be part of a community that's into one of my fav hobbies at the moment :)

Hi. Thanks for your reply :).

I've been using 25r in this mod already, and because of the number of protections build in the SX, I did not really worry much about the temp control function / low resistance coil. I'm guessing 25r are suitable indeed. However, looking at the mahs, seeing batteries with 3100 mah and such, it does make me wonder whether batteries like these can enhance a longer usage.

If there are batteries that do make me use it much longer, it would naturally be pleasurable. Currently I am keeping 3 full 25r's in my pocket just to be sure I won't be without power, but if ther are better options, I would surely would like to give them a try.

If not, I'll buy 4 more 25r's and continue with these babies :)

Hi and welcome. 'Gratz on getting off the sticks. I just got a SX Mini M, and I love it. You'll have no trouble coiling it if you're a mekkie. It really doesn't care much about the ohms so long as they're beyween the min and max. The manual recommends .065 for best performance, but it's not easy to hit with Ni200. The .1 I have in my Lemo 2 is working just fine. The real difference is Ni wire needs spaced coils, not contact. Pretty ones can be achieved by winding them on a machine screw and unscrewing the mandrel out of the middle. But I don't bother. I just wind them loose on a slick mandrel, push them tight and let them spring back to spaced. Works just fine. The Sammy 25Rs are great for the SX. I run VTC4s, but that's because I'm a mekkie too and I wouldn't put anything but a VTC4 in a mech, and I don't want a bunch of different value batteries laying around.

They recommend 16A minimum batteries. I wouldn't go less than a 25R in mine and, in fact, I actually run VTC4s just for safety. If you're carrying those batteries in your pocket, I recommend the silicone sleeves for them just in case. Shorting one with your keys would definitely be an unfunny experience.

That's something I was thinking about, ordering them sleeves when I get the 4 new ones. Will do that for sure.

As for VTC
Is it;

Sony Konion US18650VTC5 3.7V 2600mAh (15C)

Sony Konion US18650VTC4 3.6V 2100mAh (15C)

Would the top one do the trick?

Supertrk, thanks for the info as well, and yes, I've been going through reviews like mad and have learned about the sweet spot resistance, have learned about coil spacing, and currently I am a bit struggling only with joule/temp balance.
Seems that on my lemo 1 ( I have a lemo 2 on its way :) ) I can't go much higher than 18joule / 180degrees ( I'm in Europe, using metric system) due to slight odd burning flavor.
I'm guessing I just need to experiment a bit more with this issue so I'll won't bug you guys with questions about the most optimal build on TC mode

So, 4 new batteries, VTC you guys do recommend? Top one, bottom one?

(Apologies for the bold font, I can't change it, tried it all, but my iPad acts nuts )

Just read all comments carefully again and I am guessing I'll just go for the Samsung 25r
If it's safe as long as I keep within the boundaries set by Yihi regarding min/max resistance, then I have nothing to fear!

I ain't going to touch my mechmod after this SX machine ( CLT on 60w/powerful+ <-- my mechmod can't beat this setting! ) for some while I'm guessing, and y'all are positive about 25r, so am I till date, so 25r it is ( including the Silicone holders :p )

Thanks for the advice all :)

Worth the try. I'll ge VTC5 in this case .. Thanks once again for your wisdom :)

By the way, I recently updated to 2.23,.. The test version, including the Eco mode.
This Eco mode, all it does is limit the max wattage output to 40, including a battery-friendly way to reach the desired wattage ?
It's not going to hurt the battery any, for sure.

Was only wondering if this Eco mode is doing something else other than only limiting up to 40w
Perhaps it disables other features ?

Can't see a huge difference between 40w standard, and 40w Eco ,.. Perhaps because there is no difference?
I honestly do not know. It could mean anything.
