Are 18650s cool to use in your mechs fresh from the charger?
I use this rule of thumb, knowing how the ions in a battery when used or charged get excited and unstable. Finished discharging, set aside for an hour to 4 hours to let the ions settle down, place on charger, finished charging, set aside again for an hour to 4 hours to let the battery rest and ions to settle back down. Pulling fresh off a charge, the battery is a little stressed (heated up) due to charging is like pushing air into a can through a pin hole, makes them very grumpy and unstable, so going from this excited stated directly to high current discharging can cause issues as well as damage the membranes and electrolytes internally decreasing battery life and max output, the reverse aspect from
mod directly to charger also applies. Single battery
mod, look at having at least 4
batteries in your rotation, dual battery mod have 8, triple battery mod have 12 on hand at all times to keep yourself from having to charge right to mod or mod right to charge all that often.
