On Last Question I Asked What Unprotected AAA Batterys Were..You Only Specified Unwise To Use But My Manual On The VP1 Says You Can & I Was Just Wondering Why They Said That & What They Are & Where To Get Them If I Wanted To Use Them..Thanks:rolleyes:

A protected battery has a PCB - protection circuit board which prevents a battery from either over or undercharging - both of which could possibly cause a fire or explosion.

An unprotected battery has no such protection.

Chargers have similar protection so some people consider it 'overly protected' to have the battery protected as well and some will claim that the unprotected batteries perform better. Many, perhaps some who have had 'incidents' - use nothing but protected batteries and it is what most here would recommend.

You can buy both types at any place that sells lithium ion batteries.
