The mailman was good to me today and dropped off my new Chameleon made by Dancer on the UK vape Pit website. He does have his own web store now and it can be found at Chameleon Mod PV . This is a purely mechanical mod that is nicely compact at 3 5/8ths inches for an 18650 mod. He also makes an 18500 version that is really small.
This mod is easily disassembled by the user and in fact taking it most of the way down is the best way to set it up for use. First a pic of the components...
from left to right...the battery tube, changeable sleeve, bottom cap, top cap, insulator, and firing ring.
The sleeve can be had in black with and without slots, same for red and white, also a brass sleeve will be available and damascus is in the works. The battery tube is 21 mm so you can also use your imagination and make your own sleeve...I am ordering a nice Sambar Stag roll to make one from.
The top caps will be available to match for most high end devices such as the DID, Zen, Hellfire, Orion, etc.
The insulator holds the connector for the device of choice and when assembling your unit you remove the insulator and top cap and screw them together, screw on your device and then adjust the center post till it makes firm contact. The you screw the top and bottom together.
The firing ring screws down about 3/4 of a turn to lock. To use just unlock and slide the firing ring up till it contacts the top cap. So far I am finding it easiest you use like I would a bottom bottom but instead of pressing up to fire with your pinkie you let it drop holding the ring between thumb and forefinger. When done lift with the pinkie and slide thumb and forefinger off the ring. Much easier than it sounds and becomes second nature very quickly.
I have been using this mod all day and am liking it more and more as I use it and get use to it. I think it looks great, fit and finish is outstanding. Threads are medium fine and very smooth. Right now I am running it with an 18500 and a Kick and really enjoying the RA Tank on it.
