I have been vaping pretty exclusively on drippers and Kanger Aerotanks, the Mega and the V1 regular Aero. All of these Aerotanks started giving me fits yesterday, not firing at all or resistance jumping up and down and up and down, generally just pissing me off. I didn't have a single dripper build that I particularly loved so I got ...... off and bummed a smoke from a buddy. Stupid, I know. Worst part was it didn't help any of my problems. I just got two Kayfun clones from fasttech and finally sat down to build today and I am in heaven.
I don't know if I'll ever go back to clearomizers period. I can build a decent dripper but I thought an RBA was going to be too difficult, dealing with wicking and such. I couldn't have been more wrong. You don't need and fancy nano coils or double dragon Sasquatch micro coils to get a Kayfun working. All you need is a few wraps of Kanthal wire and some wicking material. If you can wrap a twisty tie around a bread bag you can probably do this. I did a simple take on the figure 8, with two pieces of 3mm Ekowool and some 28 gauge kanthal, metered at 1.2 ohms, and it works perfectly. No gurgle, no hiss, no snap crackle and pop, just tasty, smooth, delicious vapor. Firing it on a DNA 30 between 12 and 15 watts is perfect, no dry hits, no sputtering hot juice in my mouth. I'm amazed.
I may have to drop my nic level, so this is awesome... Guess I'm putting 5000 ML of Deadly Sin in the classifieds. (Just kidding. I'm gonna keep it.)
All this to say do not be intimidated by building your own devices. Worst case scenario you hit a roadblock and you ask. There are thousands of people here that will be more than happy to help you patiently and kindly, which is why I love this community.
I've seen the light. Vape on.
Oh and of course as with any rebuildable MEASURE YOUR RESISTANCE AND COMPREHEND OHMS LAW. That is all.
