Frustrated, but not enough to go back to analogs - Questions, Questions!

Hello everyone! I have been reading the forums for some months now, right before ordering my first Kr808. I have since evolved over to the ego-T, and recently ordered some of those fancy CE2 Clearomizers and some 510 smart carts. I have watched numerous How-To videos, and have to admit, most of them, I just don't get, but anyway - here are my problems/questions. I cleaned my ego-tank just the way all the videos said, let dry over a period of days, etc... still not getting the terrific flavor I was getting right out of the box, although there is a vague burned taste occasionally

Once I figured out how to fill the Clearomizers,I re-cleaned my ego-T and have let it dry for a good 2 weeks. I went back to the Ego-tanks today, and although I am getting good vapor - the taste just isn't there. The Smart carts were okay - but I ended up breaking the first one when trying to take it off to re-fill - so I have put it aside for now.

Basically, what I need to know - is why I am not getting any flavor with my ego-T atty's. The tank is firmly seated, vapor is good, etc... I even tried several 80/20 flavors, thinking perhaps one had not steeped long enough. I know there are some that don't really like the ego-t, but I do prefer it to constantly refilling, as I was with the Kr808. Any and all suggestions are welcome

Hi Lillyan, I don't have any first hand knowlege, but I have been researching ego t's for the past couple of days, and some of the treads here stated the complaint that after about 3 tanks the atty cloggs and the performance is lowered. Hope this helps.

I got some Ego T when they hit the market, regretted very much to buy them, very week taste, wicking problem, not lasting much time. If I may sugest something, get some dual coils carts. I allways buy anything new that hits the market, but never got something like the dual coils, no leaking, easy filling, perfect wicking, great flavour, huge clouds of vapour, good TH, and even cheap. At this time IMO nothing better on the market.

I've found that the tanks just mute the flavor quite a bit.

I also love the tanks for the convenience factor and for the draw, seems a lot less airy than the cartomizers if you know what I mean Must admit I haven't had much joy with cleaning them either but am now trying just soaking them in hot water, blowing them out and re-using. Never as good as new ones but useable. As far as taste goes try getting double strength flavours, I've found them much better in the tanks.

Many people have problems with low flavor on tanks. OK you tried tanks. Now try something else. Try Boge cartos.

You know it's not just taste right? You need to smell the vapor? The tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG). To get the rest of the flavor you need to smell the vapor. Food is the same way - but food is sitting in front of you with a visual and wafting aroma and has a texture when you chew. For vapor it is just the taste and the aroma.

I never have used the tanks but do use the Clearos. There is a drop in the flavor with them which is why I add flavoring---it's a must.
When I clean them, I rinse them off and then before loading, I do a dry burn. It's a given because the coil has a build up on them.

Thanks for the all the replies - I had pretty much decided to ditch the tanks and go with just the clearomisers, and will check out the Boges as well.

Dont say that its been a learning curve for all of us...if its practical for you try dripping like unsure suggested. that takes practice too

I bought an eGo tank a couple months back. For about 3 weeks, it was the best thing ever. Then it started to completely fail. I cleaned it a number of times, and it just didn't get any better. I haven't used it since.

I tried the 510 tanks, and they are handy little devils. Much simpler in design than the eGo-T - easier to use and maintain.

I switch between the 510 tank and a normal 510 now.

Unsure - I did try dripping, and I did like it, however I felt a bit like an addict, and it did get a bit messy - especially whilst in a convertible on the freeway. That was why I went to the eGo-T to begin with, to shed that mad scientist look that crept into my eye every time I popped open a bottle of juice. Just for the record - I have re-cleaned my eGo, and gone back over my inventory of juices, weeding out the ones that had no taste to begin with - no matter what I was doing with them - so I think I can safely say....Problems Solved.

I've noticed that I get more flavor from a regular 510 then a tank. Maybe its what I'm accustomed to.
