I am new to the forums, I am a frustrated Canadian looking to try this option to quit smoking... I am going to spend some time browsing the forums...

Hi, welcome!

don't just browse, participate. Get your post count up to five and then wait for an hour and you can join the canadian vapers forum on ECF.

Good luck

Welcome LauraLeigh,
Not that it works the same for everyone but I quit a 30+ year habit in 4 days with e-cigs. For me it was the mechanics of smoking as much as the nicotine. I get both with vaping without all the other crap in cigs, and I get to explore flavors you can't find in cigs.
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Welcome to ECF. There is nothing to get frustrated about as long as take your time and ask questions on the things you want to know about and take in to consideration every bit of advice you get before making a decision on anything. You have a lot of information here you can go through to find out what might work the best for you and your needs. The most important thing to do is get as much information as possible before you make a purchase and there is are Canadian section in the forums that you can look over to find suppliers and also post your question and they will surely get answers from many different people from near and far away.

Thanks everyone, the biggest frustration is that they are not readily available in Canada, I am limited on time so can't spend as much time here as I would like... I have not tried the forum yet from my phone but if it works well on there I will be able to visit more often when on the go...

I have been reading and this is a very very active forum which is great, but it took me a while to find my post again.. LOL I am not active on many forums, in fact only two others and they both have the same layout... This one is a bit different so bear with me...

That's not necessarily a bad thing, see most of the high profile e-cigs out there seem to be the mall kiosk rip-off style ones. For the real stuff best order online for the time being from reputable vendors, check out this link for ideas on where to start looking:

Canada Suppliers

You can also go with the larger outfits in the states, or china, but your playing customs roulette atm (i.e. they may confiscate your stuff just cause), never had it happen to me but I've heard of it happening so it's kinda importer beware.

Hi LauraLeigh - welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. I'm in Canada too and Jack at Happy Vaper (in Richmond Hill, ON) is fantastic! I would highly recommend the eGo. Check out Happy Vapers website. You will get great service from Jack. He doesn't sell any e-liquid with nicotine but there are some Canadian suppliers who do (Vapables, Juicy Clear, NicFit Nation). Good luck and keep coming back to the forum!

LauraLeigh, I hope you continue to post a bit on the ECF. Yes, it is a bit overwhelming at first, but I've found that once I was able to leave the New Member Forum and go to the Canada subforum, it was a lot easier to follow discussion topics, and to get answers to my questions. Welcome!

Hi there LauraLeigh :)
Don't think that you are alone. The frustration and the sense of "what is this" and the utter stream of funny words that seem uncomprehensible... All have been there, and we're (all) still here. It's simply to get started. You won't believe how awesome it is!
Make your choice on what type of smoker you are: 0->10 or 10+. If you are 10+ you might as well choose the "heavier" gear right away, the eGo (or Riva or Tornado) are all quite nifty, and the battery will last.
If you are 0-10, a penstyle (KR808-1 is doing a good job) can be suitable for you.

Some may tell that "true" 3.7V vaping or 5V vaping and a lot of mumbo-jumbo will be be much better - and that's where the uncertaincy sets in. Start set->experience->Go "special" if so desired is the way. Don't look at the price tag, also when ordering ample initial juice (30ml min.) in different strengths and flavours. Your purpose is to quit analogs, and that mission is priceless! And juice that you like to vape is "key".
Juice strenght: 6-10mg mild, 12-16mg medium, 18-20mg strong. You know which kind of smoker you are. A few will need 24mg juice for tobacco stop purposes, but you'll get queasy from using that for more than a a couple of puffs. Still, depending on your current habits....

This is how I see it - trying to use the newcomer angle. Others may off course have different opinions. Think that that you'll find a good supplier for you from asking in Canadian section.

Good luck! :)
