It's in this section of the library :
The Wonderful World of vaping - (Part 3 of 6) Software and Process

And here is what it says:
Even if you are not allergic to PG, you might prefer VG or those others. Conventional wisdom is that PG packs more flavor and throat hit, but VG generates more vapor. [When I mix my own juice, I use both.]

I know and that is the strange part. Have you ever vaped straight PG with nothing else in it? There is no TH so the TH can't be coming from the PG it must be that whatever is giving the TH gets mellowed out more by VG than PG. I have vaped pure VG same thing to TH but lots more vapor for sure. I also have 48mg 50/50 unflavored that has zero TH. I know that some people add alcohol for the TH but not everyone. I would really like to know what it is they are adding to get TH besides Alcohol. Or is it like I said before and some companies nic is less pure or clean or something? Strange. PG by itself doesn't give much vapor at all in fact if you hold it in for any time at all you exhale nothing visible. I got into the DIY a few months back and tried every combo I could think of. Adding a few drops of everclear does add all the TH I need, but I don't think that is what most of the companies use.

Haha @ "You didn't buy no lightweight model to begin with either"...yeah I know, but the thought of changing batteries every few hours annoys the hell out of me :D So I basically got it for the 2 day battery life, plus it just looks bad ... ;)

I do know about the slow steady puffs, I've done a lot of forum lurking and research for the past month or so to try and alleviate as many noob problems for myself as possible. Thanks for the tips.

Eh, just thought I'd throw a couple other things atcha. Seriously though, give it a couple days with another juice order. I know you're on a budget, but your life is pretty valuable too. Smoking will assuredly keep you coughing, but some better juice might just help. I've gotten juice from Gourmet Vapor in all VG before and it is nice and smooth. They've got a 40% off sale, so 30ml costs $11.xx plus shipping. They have red letters that say "contains PG" if one of the flavorings has PG in it so it makes it easy to pick. After a while from smoking 2 packs a day, you'll be saving tons.

IDK, I hope it all works out for you though. Good luck!

Wow love the community feeling here, from vets and even the noobies like me heh.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I just ordered some new juice with a pg/vg mix and specified the smooth throat hit (thanks Brad). So I'll see how that works and I bookmarked Gourmet Vapor too and will try that in the future. I guess I seem like I want it all haha, because i want good vapor, flavor, high nico level, and a noticeable yet not overwhelming TH.

I know that some people add alcohol for the TH but not everyone.

I've experimented with adding a couple drops of vodka to a little of my juice. Adds TH but my throat starts developing a 'scratchy' feeling pretty quick. I didn't like it.

How does your throat fare with the everclear?? It's my theory that both PG and VG tend to take moisture out of our air track and it's some of the other ingredients that can tend to irritate.

Yeah, this place is full of great people. It's been seeming pretty slow since Thanksgiving though. Usually you'd have a hundred posts professing what you will like best.

If you get around to ordering from Gourmet Vapor, their discount code is good until the 15th. GV40. After a month (at the most) of reading posts and asking questions, you'll have it all down no problem. Don't forget to check out the Pay it Forward section. A lot of trading and such that can help a cash strapped person out. Pay It Forward Here first: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward/134682-newbie-pif-thread.html

Happy vaping!

This will likely be an unpopular response, but here is what worked for me:

I was a heavy smoker with asthma. When I first started vaping, the only ecig that didn't cause me to cough violently with every inhalation was the 901. After a few weeks of using the 901, which seems to have a cooler vapor and less throat hit, my lungs were healed enough that I was able to vape the 510.

I vape at six volts now, LOL. All better.

Hi! I'm pretty new also but you may try and buy a small bottle of VG from walmart (under $5 a bottle)and mix what you have down a little and see if that helps smooth it some! Theres alot of guides on mixing but the basics are not very complicated! Make a tiny test batch to see if it helps then go from there, if it does then you can make a bigger batch without wasting the liquid you have! 1 drop of VG to 3 drops of 24mg juice will make it a 18 mg juice! If thats a little better but not there yet then go 2 drops vg to 2 drops 24 mg juice and you have a 12 mg nic juice! The strength of nic juice doesn't always have to be strong as iv'e read from a lot of heavy smokers who prefer a lower mg nic juice! I use a 24 mg for now but my wife had the same problem you are having and diluting it down to a 12 mg fixed it for her and the vg is smoother! Hope it helps and good luck with your new smokeless habit/hobby!

It doesn't seem to bother me unless I overdo it and put to much in. I agree they both dry me out. If I'm being a vapeaholic I must have water to drink or a gatoraid.

I had the "coughing" thing at first as well. I could not inhale one puff without coughing hard. I read up and found that I needed to inhale into my mouth first, hold it and then blow out. I did this for the first day. Hardly no coughing then. Second day, I inhaled into mouth and then into throat. Much better, minor coughing. Third day, I could do regular inhales.
All advise that I read, stated that I needed to get use to the PG. I buy a mix now of 80 PG and 20 VG and I add a couple drops of VG (from Walmart) and I get awesome vapor. Within 4 days or so, I have not coughed at all. Hope this helps.
