OK. My Riva finally arrived two weeks ago, so the good news is that I don't have to charge my battery a few times a day... yay. I had read great things so thought this would be worth the investment based on my research.

Using the Riva, I stared vaping and burnt out two carts, one actually melted and I was puffing away not realizing I likely ingested a ton of toxic chemicals (Is this even normal??) The second simply gave up on me.

Fed up, I ordered a 5-pack of Clearomizer CE2 2.4 Ohm Cartomizer - no poly fill but it has two wicks (string things). Filling it took some research, it was awesome once I got going. So I filled up a second one using my newly acquired syringe filling skills and was in a good place for a couple of days.

After the first re-fill, only one of my two cartos worked properly although with less vapor production and frequent burnt taste. With the 'broken' one, I could hear the atty at work but it just gave off fumes- I could taste flavor but exhaled no vapor. wtf.

The second carto just bummed out after its second re-fill. Same issue - fumes but no vapor and crappy taste. seriously, wtf.

My last cart just died. damn and I've developed a serious distrust of cart + atty use.

ECF community, has anyone out there had experience with a Riva and/or these CE2 2.4 Ohm Clearomizers? Does anyone have any recommendations of what I should try next. Could it be my technique? Should I have more carts/cartos/attys on rotation? Should I only be using the clearomizer once and not bother with refills? This is getting incredibly expensive and I'm losing patience. Just received new juice I can't vape. grrrr. An analog relapse is not looking so bad at this point - less hassle. Is there a simple reliable way to vape??

On a negative note, is vaping just a huge money grab?? Doesn't anyone feel like this is getting to be more complicated than it's worth? I've been pretty positive when it comes to vaping, and eager to learn, but today, I've decided that I'm almost over it. I'm sorry to vent but this is getting ridiculous.

Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with ce2's. I used to love them, never minded modding them a bit to get them to work, but found out it wasn't worth the aggrivation. Also, a ce2 can't keep up with my vape pace. With the problems you're having, sounds like the same issues to me...not wicking fast enough.

There is a solution...stainless steel Boge 2ohm cartos and a carto tank is what sounds to me like you need. Slot the carto with a dremel just a little, insert into the tank, fill carto, fill tank, let rest 20 minutes, screw on battery, and have at it. Carto tanks can be purchased at vaporescence, electronicstix, cloudsofvapor, and any other place that sells the short fatter tanks...not the DCT's because they take the dcc (dual coil carto but these would work great with a smoktech 1.7ohm single coil carto...crystalclearvaping.com sells both the tanks and cartos).

iI have to agree with hairball on this 1. ive had nothing but problems with the ce2 and ive done a lot of research on them and they have some really bad wicking problems which you can fix if you take it apart n mod it a little but its not worth it because it usually leaks after. the new clear tanks that you can throw onto a Boge atty are amazing and now you dont even have to punch the hole in them yourself because most sites are selling pre-punched Boge attys now like healthcabin.net

but i also do think that vaping it getting so complicated and ridicules these days which is why ive given up on all the new crazy designs and have just gone back to vaping on my Ego-T, its nice and simple and if you get the type b attys and cartridges you have enough juice to last you most of the day.

all the new crazy bats and attys from the states are kinda cool but i always end up just going back to healthcabin and heaven-gifts abd buying the basic hardware.

I'd have to agree with the previous posters. It sounds like a Boge 2.0 or a single coil Smoktech in a tank is what you need. They are pretty simple to fill and work well right out of the box. I do believe that a well mod-ed CE2 is a better vape as far as flavor and warmth, but getting there takes some work. If you are interested in modding CE2 visit the GotVapes forum. There is a ton of information there about CE2 cartos (they call them Fluxomizers)

Despite having to mod them a bit, I like clearos. After using them for so long, the leaking issues and all that just kind of became second nature to me I guess. I recently go the Vision Ego Stardust cartomizers, however, and I love them. The just work right out of the box and continue to get better as they get broken in. I haven't had them long enough to test their longevity, but so far I've been really impressed.

They do hit nicer on a slightly higher voltage. I use them on 4v usually, but they are coming out with the lower resistance ones now that should work really well on the standard ego battery (I have an Ego Booster on mine to adjust the voltage)
