DIY is really kicking my ..... I've been in the "lab" all day trying to figure out a good combination.
I did a strawberry banana and it was great in taste but lacked TH, so I figured I would add some NIC. After adding the NIC the vape became very harsh and was the exact same as my first try at DIY with watermelon.
Figured I would start basic. I took an ice tray and started dropping liquid into 3 of the slots.
Using the e-juice calculator I entered the following:
Nic Strength - 0
Target Nic - 0
Amount to make - 3ml
Flav1 Grape - 10% 15% 20% = 6 9 12 drops
PG - 70% - 30 drops (although this changes when I add more flavor, I didn't change the amount)
VG - 30% - 18 drops
Tasted all 3 and decided that I liked the flavor at 20% more. Figured I had a base and added NIC to the calculator.
Nic Strength - 24mg
Target Nic - 12 (had to go with 12 as this zeros out adding more PG)
Amount to make - 5ml
Grape - 20%
Nic - 50 drops
PG 70% - 0 drops
VG 30% - 30 drops
Grape - 20 drops
Taste was good but lacked throat hit, so I dropped in more nic increasing by 10 until I got the hit that I want. In all added 20 more drops. I got the hit, but it was harsh and the flavor was off.
So overall, my question is, if I want 70/30 PG/VG with a target of 18mg, is my only option to increase the Strength of my Nic? I guess another option would be to do away with the 70/30 PG/VG and go with 95/5 so that PG zeros out. So I compromise the amount of vapor I get for flavor?
Back to the lab.
