So I'm just a few months off of two years of vaping at the moment and I've had relatively few problems with it. Lately I've been having issues where, for whatever reason, sometimes the right side of my tongue will get some really strange feeling to it. It's almost like a desensitized, maybe dryness, possibly tingly type feeling. It's really hard to describe.

Usually after I feel this coming on though, if I keep vaping it'll keep getting more and more pronounced with my tongue and the lymph node on the right side of my throat will start getting really swollen and warm. If I keep vaping, it gets worse to the point where I have to put my PV down for a few hours and it'll eventually subside after a few hours. I've been having this problem on and off for awhile now and usually attributed it with a coil or carto getting dirty and my body doesn't like it. I used to get swollen lymph nodes from smoking sometimes too, but it was on both sides. That was one of my main reasons for switching to vaping, actually.

Yesterday though, I was vaping on a newly wrapped [silica] wick and coil on my RBA and it started happening pretty badly. I thought maybe it was the new juice that I got from a new vendor - maybe one of their bases or flavors or nicotine wasn't agreeing with me. So I put it down for a few hours, loaded up a brand new carto with some juice that I've used for awhile with no issues from a different vendor and went back to it a few hours later. SAME PROBLEM. Right node is slowly on fire, left node is completely fine, tongue has a strange feeling. Every instance of this happening, it's always the right side and never the left. I also never get a sore throat, headache, nausea or anything else from it. The less offensive fuzion vapor liquid that I'm using right now is 24mg flavor boost, where the more offensive HDV is just 18mg. It is possible they both use flavoring from the same source though.

I've been trying to change everything up to see if I can pinpoint what's causing this. I've been trying cartos, atties, stainless wicks, silica wicks, high wattage, low wattage, left-side vaping, right-side vaping, nothing is clear at all.

Anyone ever experience anything like this?? It's really driving me crazy and making vaping quite unenjoyable. I'm 99% sure it's something having to do with vaping and not some other issue, because it always comes back slowly after I pick up my PV. In the past I can vape a flavor for a week straight, and then it'll give me an issue out of the blue. Funny though, I've had plenty of people try my PV before and not have an issue, but one or two said they didn't like it because it makes their neck hurt in the lymph area after one drag.

I'm wondering if it could be a slight PG sensitivity actually. All my current liquids are either 80% VG from HDV, or proprietary blend from fuzion vapor. I do recall though with DIY juices in the past, I think I've had LESS of a problem with this.. but thinking about it all those flavors had PG in them too. I started vaping long ago with straight PG and never had an issue.

I really wanna try to figure out what the hell this is!!:mad::mad:

I thought I'd come to you guys first before I finally go make a doctors appointment for it.

i've never had a problem like that. i get a dry mouth in the middle of sleep sometimes and wake up with it. when i use to use the original ego-t it would leak thru the tip and i would get an odd burn on my lips. that would disappear in a few hours. i wouldnt hesistate to make an appointment with a doctor. be completely candid and ask for alergy testing. it does sound like a sensitivity issue.

I would go to the doctor too....hopefully a pro-vaping doctor. And get allergy tested. And get ears etc checked. And maybe the dentist.

There are a few vendors who make juices with ZERO pg, Heather's Heavenly Vapes has a "Purity" line as a sub-line that meets this qualification.

The tastes in flavors vs. the actual ingredients are two different things, for instance I've read that 555 often contains praline or peanut flavors, and those in turn might or might not contain actual praline or peanut ingredients.

I sometimes get a swollen gland if I eat sugar when it's been awhile since I had my teeth cleaned. Never the tongue thing though.

Swollen lymph nodes should be checked out by your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I've had an issue the last few weeks with my tongue feeling like it was burnt, but turns out it's unrelated to vaping, but it sure did affect my taste buds. Candida sinfection in the mouth. Come on, who wants a kiss? :p One dose of medicine from the doctor and 15 hours later my tongue feels almost back to normal and I can taste my vapes again.

Please do see a doctor about the swollen lymph node, and best of luck!

I've told my normal doctor I switched to e-cigarettes and she didn't really seem to care a whole lot. I didn't get the "you should really stop" speech like I did with cigarettes, though. Sounded more like she didn't know a whole lot about them. I've never had an allergy test done so maybe it's worth looking into although I don't have any current allergies that I'm aware of.

While I was still smoking and was having the swollen nodes on both sides I did go to the doctor for it an ENT for it twice and they said everything looked pretty inflamed but everything looked fine.

TBH...I have more "sensitivity" to VG than PG. VG seems to interfere with my sinuses and glands and makes me feel yukky. It also seems to "coat" my throat and make me cough a lot. I don't have any of those issues with PG. I have friends with asthma who had to give up VG altogether because it made their condition worse.

I know that the word on the street is that PG is the one that people tend to be allergic to, and thus no one considers that VG might be a problem for some. It may so few people that it's not really something that can be measured, but I know in my case I stopped using VG altogether for months when I had my sinus trouble (gagging, coughing, couldn't breathe, awful awful feeling). I now have gotten to where I can tolerate 15% VG in my juice...but only put it in my DIY "just because" to pump up the vapor a bit. Not that my juice really needed it.
