Frustration

Hi, I'm new so I thought I'd start here.

I have been having problems ever since I bought an EGO-T starter kit (1100 mah) at the store. First, the clearomizer that it came with didn't work well. It didn't produce enough vapor, had a burnt taste, and leaked out the bottom consistently.

So I bought some new clearomizers, Kanger T4's, that work pretty well, and don't leak.

After a day of using these with great success, my battery crapped out on me. It now doesn't seem to hold a charge. I bought a second EGO-T battery and after the intial charge, found that it doesn't work either, I can get a puff or two before the battery light starts blinking again.

So is this type of thing common with e-cig batteries? or is there a more reliable battery that I should try, that I won't have this problem with? It seems to me that Joye Tech is really dominating the market of e-cigs, so should I try another brand, or do some of their products perform better than this?

Welcome to ecf.

What a stroke of bad luck. Take the two non-working batts back to the store and exchange for something made by Innokin. And have them show you how the new stuff works.

Good luck and let us know.

:)

Are you sure that the battery is actually charging when you put it on the charger? I guess it could be a pin problem on either the battery or the charging device itself.

Welcome to the world of vaping and you did find the right place for info. Sorry you are starting off on a bad foot. First off, with the little info I can surmise from your post doesn't sound like you are fully charging your batteries. They take about 4 hours to charge when first used. Let them charge until the little red light turns green on the charger. I started with JoyeTech batteries and never had any problems with them. Try letting them completely charge up and keep us posted. There is a wealth of information here and plenty of helpful people to ask questions of. Good luck.

Either the batteries aren't making contact with the charger, or the charger is defective. When you attach either battery to the charger does the button on the battery flash? It should, to indicate it's "mated" with the charger at that point. If the battery doesn't blink 3 times when connected something is wrong.

You said there was a lot of leaking going on here. Liquid in the 510 connector kills conductivity and can cause problems. Clean both the connector on the batteries and the charger with a Q-tip and try again.

That may be the problem... I recall the clerk telling me not to screw the battery on to the charger very tight, so it could be that I made the mistake of tightening it too much.

Worth trying.

Joyetech, BOGE, Kanger, Innokin, SmokTech.....all are decent quality, but not infallible. Better than cheap unbranded clones, typically.

Welcome to ECF!! I'm a little hesitant to mention this but is it really a Joyetech? There are so many eGo clones that don't work well. I've been using 2 Joyetech eGo's for over 6 months and the pin connector doesn't move on mine. And it doesn't sound like that's the issue, it's something with the battery if it's charging just fine, then blinking after a few hits.

While charging, the blue light was on, so they were 'mated'. I have been charging them several hours so I don't think that undercharging them was the problem. But the light usually turns green before it is charged... I read somewhere that you should just keep them charging if the green light comes on early.

I am wondering if the batteries I bought are actually knock-offs. The packaging didn't say the name of the company anywhere on it. It said CE4...
But I did order another battery directly from the Joye Tech store so I will see if it works better than the ones I bought locally.

EDIT: Thank you Susan, about the clones, that is what I suspected...

Faulty batteries could very well be the problem. Personally I don't like knockoffs that close to my face, they have been known to explode.

Blue light? I don't think the Joyetech ones have a blue light. When connected to the charger, the button on the eGo will blink white I think three times and the light on the charger turns red. When it's charged all the way, the charger light will turn green.

If you look at the bottom, it should have the Joyetech logo on it. Joyetech does some OEM stuff for other companies so their logo could be on the bottom but they are listed on the Joyetech website as an OEM dealer.

CE4 is not a battery. It's the clearomizer which also could be a clone.

I have heard of problems with Joyetech recently. My brother had a batch of five batteries crap out after 4 months of use. They simply only last two hours after fully charged. Pretty terrible for a 1100 mah battery! We have gone exclusively with Kanger batteries and they perform better and seem to last. Dont give up just try something new!

I bought 2 eGo twists from them. First one lasted a month second one a little over a week. I haven't had the best luck getting a refund, either. I would avoid them. Mt. Baker Vapor is a local online store, makes for quick shipping.

If you decide to go with a carto and tank I would avoid the AGR+ I haven't had good luck with it.

Sorry I can't recommend anything I'm still trying to find something that works myself.

good luck finding something that works.

Where do you shop for Kanger batteries? I'm looking at an Evod kit. I'd order directly from their site but the shipping is really expensive.
