on the Magma i been running a single coil 26ga Kanthal, 6 wraps on a 1/8th bit, comes out at 0.44.....also using the dual airflow set-up with the one coil; not only clouds but flavor galore.....running in Hybrid Mode on my Stainless Nemi.......leaks a bit until the cotton is saturated.......tried dual coil-set-up but it was a bit to much for me.......i want flavor & clouds and not to choke to death YMMV :vapor:

Just picked up the Magma and to take advantage of the deep well, I decided to use a single coil so all that wick would not take up juice space, but I also wanted some heat behind it. That left one choice, a 26g parallel coil on a .095" gauge pin, 5 wrap and .33ohm later and she is cooking. Instant action, tremendous flavor and great smoke output.

I tried the build I had on my Stillaire, which was a 5 wrap dual (open) coil on a 6-32 screw with the 26g and the Magma produced a 'brighter' flavor with lots more high tones. The juice was Darth Vapor which is a rich tobacco flavor so maybe not the best juice for the Magma, but still very good. Think I prefer that juice on the dual coil Stillaire though...

Hmm, I've been running dual coils on the magma and flavor production is usually spot on, though sometimes the lower I build, the more flavor I loose yet smoke production remains more or less the same? Any idea why? I've heard it isn't much of a cloud machine... I'm debating on getting the hybrid kit for my nemmy cause that's awesome!!

So domkay with a single build how much wick do you use? I'm liking that five wrap build. Do you guys find you have to torch 26g? It seems like Hotspot central for me -. -

The Magma isn't really a cloud chaser atty. It's more of a flavor type. Clouds are adequate, but not huge. There are plenty of other RDAs that are better for cloud chasing.
I lightly run up and down my 26g with a torch before wrapping. Just force of habit. I just always have, ever since I started winding coils. But I don't use any special coil winding gizmos. I hand wrap mine on a drill bit.

I use just enough wick to slightly 'lay' in the bottom of the well.

The parallel single, with using Rayon for wick (which wicks great) puts out much more flavor/smoke than the dual set up I was running, and the both were within .02 ohms of each other.

Rule62 is right, the Magma is not a cloud chaser, but it will put out some good vapor.

You could try a parallel nano continuous build.

I just threw one on an IGO-W for fun and it came out to .16 ohms.

It just takes too much redripping and generates so much heat for me to continually use it.
How are you wicking that? I put a little cotton pile under the coils, then a little tail over the top, leaving the ends of the coil open. I get plenty hits before I have to re drip. Clouds, flavor, both great!

I tried light cotton piles and very small threading + piles.

I havn't tried that method yet but I think I'll get to it when my okr gets back. My mechs have kinda been sitting in the corner since I've moved to regulated, although a reo might be in my future. Right now my faves are my box mod and a provari.

I have to say though, it did pull some insane clouds and flavor on a fresh vtc4.
