How do I measure the voltage of my battery? I’m using simple Janty Kissbox batteries and I want to determine their voltage when fully charged. In my simple way, I guess I need to put the two electrodes of my voltmeter to two separate parts of the battery. But I’m damned if I can find two separate insulated parts. As I see it, the two poles must connect by the screw thread, and ultimately the atomiser heater, but nothing seems to be insulated from anything at the screw junction.

What am I missing?

You can touch one lead to the outer threading, and one to the inner circular "pole" construction. This should give you a sufficient voltage read. It is quite hard to make out on some makes of batteries, but there is indeed insulation. On some it is white or clear, so it can be hard to distinguish. Cheers.
