A wild but captive crow is given a test.
At the bottom of a cylinder is a little bucket with raw meat. The cylinder is too long for the crow to reach the bucket's handle with his bill. He must use a tool, and attempts to use a piece of metal wire.
The wire is insufficient to pull out the bucket.
So the crow anchors the wire against the cylinder and crooks it around.
Now with a hooked wire, the crow is able to lift the bucket out by the handle.
The crow was not trained to do this. It solved this problem on its own in less than 2 minutes.
