Here, you're required by law to ensure safe access to utility installations. If the gas, electric, phone, or cable company sees a wasp nest nearby, they'll send you a notice. If you don't remove it, the city will send a notice. Ignore that, and the city will send the most expensive pest control company in town (owned by the mayor's son-in-law) to remove it and put a lien against your house for the bill.
