My name is Rob & first up I will say G’day to everyone,
I have been doing searches for info for a while now & keep getting directed to posts on this forum so I thought I would join up to the community.
I have used 510’s (manual & auto) about 12 months ago trying to quit the smokes & it went well for a few months until work became flat out & the stress levels went up. Not being able to get any nic juice here I ended up back on the smokes.
About 3 months ago I decided to give it another go & found I could get the nic juice imported in. I updated to an Ego Twist & it’s been 3 weeks today since my last smoke.
It took me a while of playing around with different flavors, VG/PG mixes, Cartos, Cleromisers, etc etc to find what suited me & I am still playing around a bit now.

I have a question related to carto tanks & if anyone can help it would be awesome.

So at the moment I use Standard resistance Boge cartos. I have tried Low resistance but I don’t get the full use of the Twist & if I go up past the 4.0 mark I just get a horrible burned taste. I have also used the Stardust 2.4 Ohm & I love the amount of vapor it puts out & the nic hit I get from it, the only thing I’m not a fan of is how much juice it chews through. I can go through a full Stardust in a couple of hours of vaping & a standard size, standard resistance carto will last me pretty much an average working day (8 hours).
How do carto tanks compare to the Stardust & to a standard carto?
I would like to try & find something in between the two

I'm where you're at right now... I vape like a Dragon, lol.
Right now I am using a low resistance Kanger Bottom/Horizontal coil cartomzier on an eGo Twist at 4.0v.
I have been able to go up to 4.2v with it. I am trying to decide if I want to go the tank route but I have to be careful what tank I use if I go that way because I vape juices that nuke the regular clearomizers.
So far I swear by the Kangers B/Cs..better vapor, flavor and they last longer (at least for me).
I used Boges at first but kept burning them up and going through them quickly.
I'm looking into tanks now. Once you get enough posts to amble out of the New Members Forum there are subforums for Cartomizers, Clearomizers, Tanks etc.
There is also a thread in the New Member Forum, called "Vivi Nova Thoughts" and I got pointed towards some good info in reply to that thread.
Hope this helps :)
Welcome!

Welcome Rob! To answer part of your question, a standard tank will taste the same as using your standard resistance boge cartomizer. The tanks that people use have a cartomizer in the middle of them, with a hole punched in the side so the juice in the tank surrounding the carto can soak into the carto. Provided taste will be the same as your boge if you buy a tank that will work with your boge. They make lots of different size of cartomizers and typically a DCT tank will use a dual coil cartomizer which is longer than a standard size boge. I personally dont much care for any cartomizer unless it is a boge. Boge does make standard size(35mm) and XL and XXL (someone correct me if im wrong) As far as lasting longer than a clearomizer some of the tanks you can find that fit boge is ~4.5ml so thats almost 3 more ml than a 1.6ml clearo.

Thanks for that JCJohn23,
I was wondering if the carto being surrounded with the juice would change the flavour. Going by what you have just said i don’t think a carto tank is what i am looking for, maybe, not sure, so many bits & pieces:)
Like i was saying i love the stardust but it chews through way to much juice & a Boge carto will last me the whole day but doesn't quite give me the hit i get from the stardust. I’m kind of after something in between.
Going to ask a question on the Vivi Nova thread.
Cheers.
