Garlic!?!

Did you clean them with alcohol? It sounds like there might still be some moisture in the atty, and the alcohol on the heating element does produce a metallic, and even garlic flavor.

I fixed mine by blowing it out, drying it overnight on it's side on a paper towel, and then dripping a mild e-liquid and letting it burn mostly dry.

I have cleaned it with water, but I let it dry out for a few days. Never used anything but water or just blowing it out. I have 4 and done the same to all but just 1 tastes icky.

Was it tap water or distilled water that you cleaned it out with? Tap water has all sorts of micro-organisms and minerals in it that could potentially leave deposits on the mesh/wick and perhaps cause that extremely weird taste.

Have you tried different juices and do they all taste the same or is it more of a hint of garlic?
