Gary Giovino and other Bloomberg/Gates funded researchers (who know smokefree products are far less hazardous than cigarettes) mislead public to believe that tobacco disease and death is greatest in poorest nations, that smokefree products are just as hazardous as cigarettes, and that smokefree alternatives should be taxed and regulated similar to cigarettes (which prevents smokers from switching, and further impoverishes already poor tobacco users).

I wonder if "ignorance" to some degree is behind the push or if truly as Bill reported, they know but do it anyway?
It's just hard for me to believe the "Gates" part knowing and doing the wrong things, but call me naive if I'm wrong.
