so to start things off i was not a smoker when i started vaping (i was smoking when i was in high school but it was never serious, and it has been probably 5 years since an analog has touched my lips). so since i am picking up vaping pretty much clear of any "smoking" habits im a little lost on what kind of juices i would get.

im not sure what kind of mixes would work for me and dont want to aimlessly spend money trying to find that out. im not sure what information to give to help pinpoint what i need since i have been aimlessly vaping for about 3 weeks.

also as a side note lately i am getting headaches, which is not common (but i might be getting sick) and im not sure if nic levels can even do that to a person. i dont want to go out of my way to get no nic juices if thats not causing it.

any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

It's all about what you want. Do you prefer clouds or throat hit? Really, to me it doesn't matter so much about ratio as the flavor does.

Too much nicotine will cause headaches.

i dont care for a strong TH, the most popular juice i got is halo sub zero and its probably around where i would want my TH to generally be, which im guessing is low.

i tried a few flavors out at my local vape store and started with some fruity stuff and desserts, they were alright, i tried a coffe flavor that instantly made me and my friend feel sick (shes just previously quit smoking for vaping). the only flavor that i have really liked so far is sub zero.

do you recommend i get 0 nic or will a 12mg not affect me? since i didnt know what i was doing i just got any juice not knowing the levels.

If you are not used to nicotine in your system, that could cause headaches.

I'm assuming you are using e-liquids with nicotine? Why use nicotine if you are not a smoker trying to quit? You can get flavored 0-nic liquids anywhere. My college age daughter vapes flavored no-nicotine flavors, and you should too. Why risk developing a potential addiction if you don't need to? Just my opinion.

If you have specific questions on e-liquid, we can attempt to answer them...

it was a spur of the moment decision to pick up a pv and didnt think of the nic levels.

the one vapre store i went to only only the few flavors i liked with nic levels, so i just went with the lowest mg they had.

was it a matter of chance or should i just start ordering online?

If there are no legitimate vape shops in your area, you likely will need to order online. Most of us do that already.

My favorite vendor is Dripeez. They specialize in fruit flavors.

When placing an order, vendors that custom mix their flavors will ask the pg/vg ratio that you want.

  • PG - brings more flavor to the vape, but not so much vapor production. A few individuals have a sensitivity or even an allergy to this component.
  • VG - responsible for vapor production, is thicker than PG so wicking of the juice may be difficult in some juice attachments.
  • I feel the best ratio is a 50/50 blend for starters.

there are two and one didnt have any no nic flavors i cared for. my friend says no nic vapes lose taste, is that true?

the other vape store im not sure they let you sample juices, its a little out of the way but if im getting headaches from nic it would be worth it.

Why put yourself through the headache (literally) of finding the right nic level when you can vape without it? I made the mistake of starting with really high nic juices and suffered the same problem. Ultimately, it's not easy finding your "all day vape." I don't really think such a thing exists for me. My taste buds change ALL THE TIME and, before I know it, I'm burnt out on whatever flavor of the month. Just have fun and keep your taste buds open :)

My daughter hasn't complained about her 0-nic flavors losing their flavor. She's only been vaping for about 4 months though. Nicotine definitely adds a component to the flavoring taste, but most people who switch from nicotine to 0-nic report better flavor without it. Nicotine adds a peppery taste, however minimal that is.

I also order a few flavors from Virgin Vapor. The flavors from here can be kind of hit or miss. They make one of my all time favorite flavors, Kona Velvet Milkshake. I recently tried the Pineapple Party Animal and its more miss than hit. You'll find this with most e-liquid vendors though in my experience.

I also like Vaperite, Pink Spot, and Copper Creek.

since i want less th and more vapor should i go 100% vg regular formula?

and what flavor option? since supposedly no nic and vg are lower on flavor should i get bold or is that simply over kill?

also does bottle affect anything?

I am also in AZ. Are you in the Phoenix area? I just got my devices and some liquid at an east side vape store. I like the menthol ice from Pink Spot. Also, I like liquid made in the USA. Where ever you go, the staff should be knowledgeable and also let you vape and try flavors. I just got back into vaping and was away from it for a few years and floored at how much has changed. Not sure if I can mention the store I went to on this thread. I don't want to get in trouble for "spamming" But I know they will help you, but you can always PM me.

If I didn't smoke and started vaping I would definately go with no 0 nic. When I got my first juice I went with 24 mg of nic because I thought I needed it since I was a smoker. 12 weeks later I am using 18 mg and sometimes I mix 24 and 0 to get 12 mg. The wife uses 0 nic. She was maybe a 3 tobacco cig a year "smoker". She had given them up years ago. We will get the same juice in 0 and 18 nic and her flavors are so much richer. Chocolate seems to me to be the most effected by nic. We both like the throat hit so we normally use 80PG/20VG or a 75PG/25VG mix.

im in peoria (west valley) and got a couple of shops nearby. i dont think ill be buying local anymore though since online deals are generally better, even with shipping costs.

im got a 0 nic juice in the mail the other day and i dont get headaches anymore, just sadly its light on the TH, i dont care for much TH but this is practically non existent (even though its a 70/30 mix), could just be this one juice in particular. ive been getting dominate pg mixes and im wanting to try a strong vg mix, but going in blind is always scary. i do way too much research for a single purchase in most cases.

will be getting my joyetech ego c twist in 2 days' time :vapor:

its so much better than the knock off brand i had, the VV really helps dial in to what you want out of your juice.

I order my juices from Dripeez at 50/50 pg/vg. I don't like a lot of throat hit either, and this ratio works well. Nice flavor and vapor.

Having no nic will intensify the flavor. No boost in the flavor required for no nic. I confirmed this with the vendor over the phone when I ordered no nic for my daughter.

I like the glass dropper tops the most. Otherwise you will need a syringe to add juice to your clearomizers.
