Hey guys, researched noob here. Got a question for y'all.

I recently got into PVs and such, and at the recommendation of a friend of mine, I bought a Blu for myself and one for my wife. We received them on Tuesday this week, and I've gotta say I like it. Not as much as I'd like to like it, but it's kept me off analogs all week.

Now my curiosity gets me: I've been looking at 510 type PVs, as most people seem to really dig them and I found "generic" 510 parts and starter kit on Litecigusa.net. I wanted to ask, are these any different from joyetech branded ones? Any drawbacks? Failures? It seems a little too good to be true, considering a starter kit for these generics is only $32, so I wanted to ask you guys your opinions.

Thanks!

Hi Just,

There are "knockoff" type 510 kits. Generally speaking they are non-Joye atomizers stuck on a 510 compatible battery. I don't know if litcigusa carries only Joye. They may.

Non branded is ok. The Joye kits out there are minimally branded anyway- unless you go Janty. Janty is the sort of "official" brand for 510 stuff.

Getting genuine Joytech is a good thing. They generally perform better than the knockoffs.

I bought my Joye 510 starter kit from litecig and have been happy with it. I wanted some extra batteries for it so I ordered one of the generic ones from litecig's sale page for a couple $ less than a Joye. Functionally it's fine, it lasts just as long as the Joye, but the button is a little softer. I'd say "squishy"? I saw the starter kit you looked at and would say it's definitely worth considering. For the $10 saved you can buy a couple bottles of juice, an extra battery, or an atomizer. It seems like most people go for something with more oomph after a short time anyway, so you might as well save a few $ on your first kit. That's my opinion anyway.
