I've heard people talking about generic vs non generic atomizers. How do you know if they are generic or not? Also does anyone know of companies that do not sell generic parts??
Generic means non-branded. Otherwise they are 100% exactly the same (physically).
"How do you know if they are generic or not?"
There is no name or branding on the unit. In the case of the 510 the atty has a wide gold band for those that are at least meant to be branded. Generic just has a thin ring.
"Also does anyone know of companies that do not sell generic parts??"
Again in the case of the 510 - Janty and TECC/Totally Wicked and their resellers.
Often branded units will come with nicer design, and much better warranty. Those companies are staking their reputation on the products they sell.
It's interesting that there isn't any mention of the RJR Premiere cigarette. It is essentialy the same thing as an e cig, but instead of an electronic heat source it uses a pure carbon tip.
Also, these Chinese electronic cigarettes are surely rip offs of American patents. Both RJR and PM have patents on electronic cigarettes.
I couldn't care less who holds the patents (Chinese companies hold quite a few). I care who can get them to my door at a reasonable price and reasonable quality.
