well i was smokin my rsst on a tesla and decided to pull the trigger on a dinkat inspire ss mech mod. i have been using 400ss mesh with 4 wraps 28g kanthal. comes to 1ohm. the prob is i put a new batt in and its so hot i can hardly smoke it. no hot spots its built right. once the batt gets down to say 3.8v its great and i can smoke till batt is down to 3v. mind u this mod has a .3v drop across the coil on full charge. should i go to 1.2ohm and try that and if prob still there try 1.4ohm? or would someone have some better advice? im thinkin subohm is crazy!

Does your RSST have the stock air hole?

Once you lower the resistance, you're producing much more heat, and more often than not, people are enlarging airholes. A larger airhole will help that coil run much cooler and produce more vapor as well. You may experience some flavor loss, but that depends on your taste.

If you like the tighter draw of the stock airhole, it's probably not recommended to run at 1ohm.

I agree with Hadouken about more air for lower ohm up to the might have flavor loss, the bigger the air hole the less flavor, doesn't matter the atty or device on that count, tho some gennys do have better flavor due to smaller top caps.

However something to keep in mind, low ohm vaping is not for everyone, some juices will taste nasty at low ohms, batteries won't last as long, and so forth. Also you are putting more stress on your batteries as you go lower on the ohms, and while your batteries may very well be rated to handle the stress normally, hot spots and shorts can cause problems. And please do not think you will never have that happen, everyone who uses a genny WILL have bad genny days, they WILL have shorts from time to time, and they WILL get hot spots now and then.

hi all especially from ky. yea the first thing i did was drill out the air hole to 2mm. that small pin hole that was in it was so little it didnt even serve as a pilot hole for drilling. i couldnt even move any air thru it sometimes i think i drilled it to big cause i have to take 4 primer puffs to get juice to the coil. anyway i redid my coil 6 wraps of 28g gave me 1.3ohms and also my .3volt drop over my coil is now .2v much happier! but still weak flavor even though clouds of vape. thinkin of buyin a nice rda and movin to the dripper stage. can anybody recommend a good rda with adjustable airflow and maybe even dual coil thats made good with a reasonable price like under 70 bucks? i will say this rsst was built cheap the way the drip tip moves around.
