Get 1 gallon of VG or less?

This sounds like a silly question but please read on.
1 gallon of VG will last me well over a year, maybe a year and a half. I am not sure if it will stay in good shape that long, or if there is any harm leaving it for too long.
I would like to order 1/2 gallon, but all essentialDepot have is 1 quartz or 1 gallon, and price is only $3 diff. Do you guys think I am safe with 1.5 year mark, in refrigerator?

I had a 1 gallon tub of VG used it over a course of 3 years just finished it up and all was good. I did not refrigerate it just in a cool dark place.

I am not an expert DYI mixer so I hope others chime in as well. (Would like to know as well if there is a shelf life to VG)

Most documentation states 1 - 2 years. However, I also read once further testing is done it will be extended. A bottle of VG I've had for a while now has 2018 as the expiration date.

My background is chemistry. With my knowledge and knowing the chemical makeup of this, I'd say its good for several years if stored correctly.

BTW: Think about this- its widely used as a food preservative.

I bought quarts of VG from ED twice when they had free shipping on them.
I needed more and my gallon of PG was near finished so this time I ordered one of each for $53 total/free shipping.

I should have gotten 1+1 the first time. It'll last as long as I need it and I'll reorder the same way.
