This happened to me too, and maybe my fix will help you, or maybe not. I was very fixated on the quality of my coils for a time, and was making perfect coils and experiencing imperfect results. Then I realized that I was paying too much attention to the coils themselves and not enough attention to their placement. I started really concentrating on building as close to the edges of my RDAs as possible without shorting out, and everything was right with the world again. No more spitting or lost flavor. YMMV

I hope you figured out your issue. If you haven't is sounds like you could go for a another wick in the coils to eliminate the possibility of it just being a wicking thing. That's an easy diagnosis to start with.

I also notice if I haven't vaped an RDA in a few days it sounds really aggressive, kind of like sizzling. To remedy this I just run some fresh liquid through it before I vape it again and it's back in action.

I was unable to take the center post out of this Derringer clone. Not sure if it's press fit in there or what but it won't budge. Cleaned it out really good anyway and let it dry for a day. Put a 8 wrap single coil in and it's doing the same bubbling and hissing like there is a short but the reading stays steady at .8 ohm. There is also the occasional sort of quiet pop and the vape just sucks. It's all bubbling and it makes me cough. It also seems like there is more juice than normal on the underside of the top cap.

the post is press fit, you should be able to take out with force, other than a short there I'm blank
