My 510 came yesterday and I've been getting to know it since about this time yesterday. It wasn't love at first vape. I wasn't all that sure about the taste. I followed the advise about blowing out the primer, and still wasn't sure if this taste was still an un-broken-in atty, the cart, or the ECOpure that I'm using. It's a little sweet, and just a tad reminisent of the left over essence of lighting the wrong end of a marlboro! However, having said all that, I haven't had an analog since yesterday and with the exception of a few "knee-jerk" reactions I haven't really craved an analog. Guess I'm doing pretty good. I've ordered some samples of e-juice and will continue to fine tune this thing. All in all, I am pretty darned happy!Getting Aquainted With My 510

mzruzz, Welcome to ECF! Yeah, it takes a couple of days to get used to the new sensation of vaping vs. analogs. But once you get some "flavors' you will be in 7th heaven! The cart stuff is just plain slunky in my opinion..one or two out there are ok but they are few are far between.

510 attys are famous for having to be broken in for a day or so to burn the primer. Dripping some e-juice on the atty, or topping off the carts with a drop or two every so often really helps with the taste! Congrats and good luck! And welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!
Stop the presses! It was the atty all along! Changed the atty, and the "essence of burnt marlboro filter is gone! This is great and to think I was all ready to accept it even with the odd taste! Don't know what was wrong with the first atty, don't care...this is really satisfying!!!
Good thing you thought to change the atty. I have found that the taste of the tobacco-flavor was strangely sweet at first to me, and I liked it quite a bit. After a moment, having the tobacco aftertaste in my mouth, I realized what I wasn't tasting was the smoke! Probably the main reason I liked it better.
I've had my 510 for about 9 days now and am convinced more than ever that I can kick the 39 year analog habit! Since vaping I have had only one analog a day; which is pretty good in my book. They don't taste very good I don't know why I felt I needed just the one. This morning I pocketed my pv, grabbed my coffee and daily analog, stepped outside for a smoke. I was puffing away enjoying the morning when all of a sudden without realizing it, I reached into my pocked, pulled out my pv and started vaping; the analog totally forgotten and burning down in the other hand!
