Scotchydog, as far as durability and long lasting battery, I found the MVP my cup of tea since I chain vape and can hook it up to the outlet and vape and charge at same time. The next thing, is the Nautilus which most people rave about and I enjoy several. I've never owned the Vamo, but there are many who rave aboout them. It depends on what form factor you want. Tube or box? :)

Just as a reading observation, many that chat here are cloud chasers. Occasionally, I hear many people talk about how their inexpensive MODs have been working just fine and that they are saving a lot of money.

Also, when watching reviews, the reviewer will mention the low watts he/she is using, and liking.

For myself, I use higher than 20 watts about 5% of the time. My bottom line is not smoking, second is flavor. It just seems that increased watts are being sold as a gimmick to keep people buying the latest and greatest to keep up with the 'joneses".

Another thing that promotes getting higher wattage devices is that new chip technology and its features are coming out that is only available with higher wattage devices.

Really, all-in-all, having higher wattage is not as necessary for staying off ciggs and getting good flavor. Actually, clouds aren't bad either with new wicking, airflow, and topper designs.

With all this in mind, my daily vaping is in the 11-18 watt area. Better toppers and builds make that easily enjoyable. 20 watts is fine.

I do have a mech and I do have a higher watt MOD, but 11-18 works for me.

Just my observations and thoughts.

Hi, I just would like to say welcome and here's my two cents. The MVP 2 is a great unit, I own 2 but I rather prefer my praxis clone over it because the MVP has some restrictions. It only goes to a certain wattage, that being 11. The praxis clone goes to whatever your battery is capable of. Now it is a bit more work to check the resistance of your coils without it having a circut board but honestly I do believe if you get a nice RDA or RTA then you will be set. I'd say go to fasttech . com (without the spaces) and look up a praxis. They are about 21 US dollars and they have some decent RDAs, I recommend the hobo. Its really great. Grab some kanthal wire and some wicking material, I reccomend 30gage kanthal and organic cotton as it wicks better than silica. The last thing you will need is some GOOD BATTERIES. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT skimp on the batteries. Only use good quality batteries. I reccomend Samsung 18650 batteries if you have a 18650 mod. That being said the praxis is recommended with flat top batteries not button top. Now if you don't like the dual action switch on the praxis I'd say go for an Apollo. Same price on fasttech. I reccomend these because they have a hybrid top cap meaning your Atty will connect straight to the battery. This whole set up including batteries and a charger and the kanthal and wick and the RDA and unit will run you about 55-60 bucks on fasttech. I highly recommend using only quality batteries on any mech mod and it would be essential to get a voltmeter and a ohmmeter. Hope his helps.
