Getting back to vaping after a year of break...

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Adam and a happy vaper from Meriden, Connecticut. My story with vaping started 3y ago when I was looking for safer alternative to smoking. I'm 28 last 12m vape free (work time and travel related). Also I must say, after reading ECF daily for years I decided to start posting. Back in the day I was rocking KR808s with those silly cartos (there wasn't anything better)

This time, new job, and my love for vaping was reborn. I got myself a provari mini with few 510LR & 306LR from Cisco, DCA306 shield (amazing) and some juice from random suppliers (pure smoker, avid vaper, Rawr vaper).

I must say, a lot of things has changed, new generation of PVs is just rocking (@4.5V)

One problem. I have problems with tasting my juices.

I started first with 24mg Minthia from Pure Smoker (50/50). WOW! The most cooling mentol on the planet (compared to let's say... Porthol Menthol). After some time juice tastes like Hospital on a bad day

Fire Cracker from the same vendor is just painful. Tons of flavor and my tounge hates me. Super spicy cinnamon (like big red gum x10).

Then I tried fruity juices from AV and the excited ones from Rawr (peach serum, truth serum, apple serum, poison & Antidote). All of them come in 18mg nic with 50/50 or 30/70 and 60/40. I'm disappointed with the taste. Very very little or no flavor (and I shake the bottles)

I haven't tried standalone carts with those juices, or tanks yet (looking forward to io306DCA shield from IkenVape, and Phiniac Pyrex tank for boges in the future).

Anybody can explain why do I have so many problems with tasting juices on current setup?

Sounds a bit funny that Pure Smoker juices are fine and other vendors are not.

If you're vaping LR cartos at 4.5V, you're putting out 11.25 watts. While that's not super high, it's still up there. Maybe your juice can't handle the heat?

Have you tried at about 3.7-3.9 to see if
you get more taste?

Maybe your juices need to steep as a lot of vendors make your juice fresh for the order, let them sit for a week or so and try them again.

Maybe your taste buds just need to wake back up after going back to analogs for a while?

Hi Adam, WB to the vaping fold! As others mentioned, your taste will take a while to come back. It's probably not a good idea to stock up on a gallon of something you like now, because in a few months you may easily *not* like it. I like peach/menthol as well. Another daily vape is red apple/menthol/coconut.

+1 there, you taste will change as you vape more, and different voltages affect taste of juice too, try a little hazelnut in something like ry4, let sit for a couple of days before you vape it...

Thanks everyone for replays. I tried the juices with voltages between 3.3-4.0 - no difference. Juices were made 1m before delivery (that's what I requested) and also tried io306 SR 2.5 and 3.0 atty. I'm beginning to think Pure Smoker has some kind of magical base for their juices (or ratios) that they don't reveal which works well for me. Every other vendor juices taste like crap.

Puzzling... Don't you think?

Ps. During that 12m break neither I smoke nor vape.

I had 2 juices from Rawr Vapor & I noticed the flavour didn't come through too well.

Peachy Melons & Green Pear Tea. They smelled so damn good too, but when I vaped them they were nice, but extremely subtle.. perhaps too subtle. I'm rocking some RY4 from The Vapor Room now. Soooo good.
