So since I have started vaping I have been a clearo user. I love my Vivi but I want to get into cartos and carto tanks. I have been looking at the Smok DCT or U-DCT but the more I look around the more options I find. I want something that comes togehter and ready to rock (once its filled obviously). I like the DCT for this because it comes assembled and ready and all I would need to do is pick up an extra pack of cartos. Also, I have heard people say to not waste money on pre punched cartos and punch them yourself and others swear by the Smok pre punched cartos. Help a newbie out! I have read similar threads on here but none seems to answer my question exactly so I figured I would make a post myself. My main questions are: What tank/carto do you recommend, is there anything I need to know as someone new to cartos, benefits of pre punched vs punching myself, ETC. I will be vaping off of a VV/VW Sigelei Z max.

And I went to https://www.ibtanked.com/ and got me one of their kits...25 dollars and you get the tank a cartomizer and a filling tool. I still use the first one as my going out one and use my IBtanked one at home.
The Ibtanked is a lot more durable and I can put any kind of juice in there and not have to worry. The cartos I have tried so far is the prepunched smoktech ones and have no complaints. I have heard unless you get can a good carto puncher that you can easily deform the cartomizer where it won't fit. I have had no problems with the pre punched ones so far.

I have an IBTanked kit. Came with 5 cartos pre-drilled holes. Filled 3 of those darn things up and had an aweful burnt taste every single time. I just cannot seem to get the hang of those things. I have prefilled, tried the whole inhale without fire idea and nothing is working at all.
I am back to my vivi which mutes the flavor after the first day of use on a new head. Waiting on my protank, which from reading different topics it seems I will have a 50/50 shot of liking it or not.
I guess what I am going to start buying wicks and wire and rebuilding these things. Seems a lot less expensive route to go since the hardware is pretty good around the wick and wire.

Some people prefer to punch their own cartos for different types of juice. I prefer Boge xl sr pre-punched with 2 holes. It's just one less thing to hassle with. The most important thing is to properly filling the cartos.

I have an ibtank and love it. I'm using boge cartos, and punching them myself. Been using the first carto for over a week now and no issues, flavor is still going strong. Look up Baditude and read his blog posts.
I am sure the tanks are fine. I have read and looked at almost all these videos and I guess I am just not zavvy enough to get these things working correctly LOL.
So it seems thats from the responses so far, that the pre punched cartos tend to work fine? I can use Boge cartos on the Smoktech tank as long as they are XL right? Anyone have any experience with J-tanks from electronicstix?

Might want to take a look at the AGR locking tank. It's cheap and getting pretty good reviews. Pbusardo has a recent video on it.
