Getting into mechanical mods

I have been vaping for about 5 years and just now decided it's time to step it up a notch. So I'm venturing into the world of mechanical mods and rebuildable atomizers. I am a newbie to this expert level of vaping and have written a blog post on my website about what I've learned so far. But have I covered all the basics? Is all my information correct? I would greatly appreciate any comments or feedback either here or on my website. Thanks everyone.

You can read my blog post here: What is a mechanical mod?

I wouldn't say that mechs and rebuildables are more specifically for sub-ohm builders. You can get "clouds of vapor" with a build well over 1 ohm.
Buy a digital multimeter and test everything you build before you fire the coil. Knowing your resistance is key to not exceeding the max current draw on your battery. Always know what your battery is capable of and don't push the limits for the sake of huge clouds.
Airflow is more important to vapor production than crazy low ohms also. Be sure your airhole is lined up with the coil and- if you are going to drill out the hole for more airflow- start small and make adjustments until you get the draw you want.
Build single coils first to get your technique down and then move into dual coils if you so wish. Understand how ohm's law applies to dual coils before doing so.
I have been using mechs and rebuildables for almost a year and I know there are many whom are more well-versed than myself to comment- those are just a few things that stood out to me.

Nice. Thank you for your feedback minimalsaint. I was under the impression that going sub-ohm was the way to go since almost all reviews I've seen have sub-ohm builds. I purchased a Cartomizer and Atomizer Ohm Meter from MadVapes to test resistance levels. Would that be sufficient, or do you still recommend I get a digital multimeter?

Thanks for all your tips. I will keep them in mind when attempting my first build.

Wow 5 yrs, I'm surprise it took you that long to venture out into mechanicals. Enjoy it and also add this to the need to know list: make sure to us imr safe chemistry batteries only, good luck.

I know, I'm surprised too. Better late than never though right? I purchased EH IMR 18650, 1600mAh, Flat Top batteries from MadVapes. Those are good right?
