Hello DIYers,
I'm venturing into new territory, D.I.Y. So I've looked at a few YouTube videos on how tos and steeping, which everyone seems to have there own way of doing things I went ahead and ordered some PG/100mg 60ml, PG 60ml (to cut the 100mg to 50mg), PG 120ml, VG 120ml and 4X30ml of PG based flavors, some 120ml bottles, 30cc and 10X3cc syringes. I've ordered all my supplies from RTS Vapes and will post what I've created in this thread. Anything I should know about (other then safety) like steeping, mixing, coloring, let me know and Thank You

I've been meaning to create a recipe called "Crimson Ghost" lately but haven' decided what the final product should taste like. Maybe we can collaborate?

Nice Avatar  lets do this, what flavor did you have in mind? I was going to do a Watermelon Cream flavor called "Die My Darling" and I have a couple more in mind :)

I think your going to need small bottles if you don't already have some. I ordered a bunch and could use three times that many. The 10 mls size seems to work perfect for trying on a new flavors and mixes even if you only make 5 nls in it.

Also 1 cc syringes come in handy for flavorings

I want in...looking for another partner?
VapFits "And it's a woah oh oh oh oh"

The one below is about $73 shipped with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 minute cycles. Cheaper than the 8 minute Harbor Freight one. Not sure about the vendor, but whatever...probably not bad. Also there's 8 minute cleaners on Amazon for $26-$29 that are Prime Eligible.

LARGE PRO 60 Watts 1.4L DIGITAL ULTRASONIC JEWELRY CLEANER

Awesome, I'll be getting one soon :)

So how long do I need to steep in this unit? I read that a usual steep takes 3 weeks, one of these will cut that down to 2 days but the timer is only 30 minutes (at its longest) so how would I use this?

The link to thread in an earlier post had mention of doing 16-24 8 minute cycles over the span of 2 days. I suppose the advantage of a 30 minute cycle is you wouldn't have to babysit the machine as much. You would only have to press start 13 times as opposed to the 24 times with 8 minute cycles. I don't have an ultrasonic yet, but I mean doing 5ish 30 minute cycles should probably mix it up just fine.

Honestly 8 minute cycles for 26 bucks is heckalot better than shaking till your elbow hurts 4 or 5 times a day. Just I see a lot of grumbling about wanting longer cycles. That's the best price I could find for a 30 min cycle.

I saw that one. The manual says it has 5-10 min cycles. The problem with the digital timer is whether or not you have to press a button to activate a cycle. Somebody made mention on a different thread about using rubber bands or something to keep the button pressed on the $29 harbor freight machine.

I have the el cheapo $30, 3 minute cycle UC from Harbor Freight.
I use a rubber band holding a kibble nugget to keep the on button pressed down.
I use it that way for 1/2 hour to 1 hour cycles.

So maybe that works. But yeah, a few runs for 30 minutes each night and in the morning would probably be the same as many 8 minute cycles through-out the day. I would recommend the 30 minute one just for that reason. Most people can't hit go all day long, and it's probably why folks grumble about the short cycle machines. But if rigging the button works then a digital timer is a great idea for safety concerns because the machine could overheat and all.
