I need some advise. I'm about to receive my DIY supplies and I plan on putting 3 of the 4 (120ml) bottles of 100 mg PG nic in the freezer for long storage and cutting down this 1st bottle. Originally I planned on cutting this 1st 120ml bottle of 100mg PG nic down to 50mg using PG. Well.... Now I'm not sure as I "think" I'm starting to experience some health problems possibly relating to vapping. So now I'm thinking I should experiment with different PG/VG mixes and see if that helps. Up until now I have only used custom supplier juice and from what I've been told it's all 70/30 PG/VG.

I have purchased several Amber European Dropper Bottles to get ready for this DIY and was wondering if I should cut down the entire 120ml bottle of 100mg PG nic into various 50mg PG/VG ratios? or would it be better to just cut down what we need at the time and then lock this stuff up.

FYI, The reason I wanted to cut this stuff down ASAP into a somewhat safe level was to eliminate any possibility that my wife (or I) could make a bad mistake and use to much nic in our recipes. I know 50mg could mess us up for a while but it won't kill us. lol

Also if it helps, our final nic level target is 18mg.

Hope all that makes sense. And thanks for any advise.

Since it is the additives that causes liquids to go bad, I wouldn't cut the bulk of the order. I would clearly mark the stored (freezed) bottles with its content e.g 100mg.

Then I would cut 60ml of the remaining bottle to 50mg and store the remaining 60ml of 100mg (labelled) in the freezer as well.

I developed a sensitivity to PG as well and know vape 100% VG cut 4 to one with distilled water (what I add)

Not sure I'm the guy to answer this. I like using 100mg. It makes double checking my recipe calcs quick. Less likely to mix wrong, as it were.

See, for 18mg juice I know, without a calculator that a 10ml bottle is going to have 1.8ml of 100mg nic in it. So, that leaves me plenty of room to adjust PG/VG ratios. Let's say I'm shooting for 20% flavor for 10ml of 18mg juice. I have 1.8ml of 100mg PG nic, 2ml of flavor that is also counted as PG, so my 10ml of juice still has 6.2ml that I could put my VG in there. I end up with a 38/62 PG/VG mix and my numbers are easy to double and triple check.

Now, if there was any chance a small child could get their hands on my nic, I may do things differently, but I like 100mg nic because it makes it easy to check myself while mixing just in case I enter the wrong data in my calculator.

So your thinking I should use half a bottle (60ml) and then cut it down to 50mg using various PG/VG ratios in separate bottles to experiment with? If that's correct, what PG/VG ratios do you think I should try?
It's too late for me to go with 100% VG because 62% VG (based on 20% flavor & 18mg nic) is as close as I can get. Just out of curiosity, did you loose a lot of flavor when you switch to 100% VG?

Thanks for the help!

Hoosier I like your method! That does make a lot of sense to keep it simple like that. I think I might go that route once the wife and I are comfortable with this DIY mixing but for right now I'm a little nervous about the possible messes my wife can make in a heart beat. lol (I leave the kitchen when she's cooking) Plus we do have a couple of little monster grand kids running around once in a while and 3 dogs in the house. We plan on keeping this stuff locked up of course but it still makes me a little twitchy. lol

Thanks for the help!

Oooops! I thought it said 100mg VG, my bad. Flavour has lost some on all VG juice, but it is smoother less harsh, more mellow. So I better vape as far as I am concerned. I had to adjust my recipes by 1-2% but other than that I am pleased with the results.

One thing I did notice, 2-3 days dont' cut it any more. Juice has to sit for a week or more to truly develop using straight VG.
