Getting juice splatter in my mouth with Patriot RDA?

Hey everyone. I would appreciate a little bit of advice here. Been running a dual parallel microcoil with 28g on my patriot rda and halo top cap for a couple of weeks now. Also using cotton as wicking material. I've been experiencing a lot of juice splatter which gets into my mouth then I eventually just spit it out because I don't want to swallow it. Is there anyway to avoid this? I feel like this has always happened to me but i really want to find a fix for it. Should I use different wicking material? And I don't think I'm overly saturating the wick/coil either. Just enough so I can take 5-6 drags off of it. Is this a common occurrence with sub-ohm builds? Running at .28 right now with my current build. Please help me out because this does get veryy very annoying...thanks!

Is your wick sitting on top of one of the screws or high in general?

The higher your cotton is the more chance of juice splatter in your mouth ...

Also if you can see the cotton through the driptip you definetily wanna move it out of the way ...

.28 is hot, so this takes a bit of fiddling/experimenting ... I run no builds at 0.1-0.2 without taking the top cap off for dripping with a gravity wick or so - otherwise it just dry burns ...

I had the same problem with my trident before. It's the cotton being too close to the drip tip. Because I drip through the drip tip on the trident, I thought it was a good idea to lay the cotton on top of the positive post, so it would soak the drops. I was wrong. The cotton layer just splattered juice in my mouth. Nowadays, I tuck the cotton down and I have no problems.

I have a Patriot RDA coming with a Nemesis mod next week and am glad to have seen this question! I do not want to vape sub-ohm because it is the flavor that is the most important to me rather than cloud chasing. <---- Is that what sub-ohm builds are about? I have a friend at my local ecig shop that will show me how to rebuild the coil and i will definitely be tucking the wick down because I also hate splatter.

Like bloodline, it happens to me if my pg ratio is too high. No problems at 70pg30vg. I once took a bottle of 100pg nic and forgot to add VG. It would always spit at me when I first fire the coil.I had to fire, wait for the spit, then place drip tip in mouth. It would only spit once at the first fire.

Bear in mind that your situation might be different. Just gotta experiment and find what causes the spitting for you.
