Question about Patriot

New member on here (been lurking) but been vaping for a lil while and was wondering if I could get any help. I don't understand why I am getting dry hits on my patriot atomizer. I try to vape around .5 ohms and use a AW IMR 2000mah battery. Is it because of my set up? Because I tried a couple of different coil builds and I just keep getting intense dry hits Any suggestions?

Is there anyway you can include a picture of your setup and especially the wick/coil?
Without any more info, it sounds like your setup is the culprit.

Sorry if it's a bad picture. But this is my typical set up. I'm pretty new to rba's so any tips will be greatly appreciated. Also forgot to point out that it's a patriot clone. Maybe that's the reason?

That's way too much cotton. You are basically choking off the juice getting to the coils because it's too thick. Another thing is too much cotton on your deck can actually impede juice from going to your coils as well. Try less cotton overall.

looks like ur using way more cotton than you need. plus, i noticed a lot of people will twist their cotton tightly into like a rope before they insert it through the coil. you dont need to do this. just roll it lightly. n it doesnt need to be tight against the coils. u should be able to slide it back n forth inside the coil- keep in mind the cotton will expand once it's wet.


here's my patriot. i added this dry piece of cotton next to my setup, just to show how big the wick is that i will typically use when it's still dry.

there could be multiple things hot spots maybe where your wire doesn't touch your wick is a very common one.
