With any of these connectors you have to take out the positive pin to get the rubber out so it doesnt melt correct? I bought an extender ( the kind that is a male 510 on one side and and ego male and female 510 on the other) at my local B&M and I am trying to use it for my Mech mod. Haveing a really hard time figureing out how to connect it to a copper end cap without melting the inside and i dont know if they are able to be seperated. And ideas would help. I was reading the other thread on 510 connections but didnt want to hijack it...

If so you can remove the center pin same as a standard connector. I did this to seal one for use with dripping atomizers. Push it out from the eGo end...I use a square bit to do it so I don't damage anything. Of course anything slightly smaller than the opening but larger than the pin would work. A wood pencil with the led broken off also works very well.

Yupper thats the one, it seemed well made so i grabbed that for 2$ i think. I didnt know you could do that. Which way do you push it out from? Top down? The female 510 being the top.

I think you are on the right track ,,,the quality is nicer .
just took one apart its easy the center pin pushes out from the ego side and then fished out the rubber with a dental pick .
I will use a piece of circuit board for the top of the mod , reamed to fit and then soldered . then will use a dremel to cut some of the inside end of the outer shell to expose more of the center pin when reinstalled after wire is soldered . the connecter is now a sealed one ...
epoxy after testing ,,, if you find a better way let us know .

Local B&M store, They do ship though ill stop there and ask them what it would cost for shipping.
Only problem im going to have is i cant have it sealed, Most of what i plan to use on this mod will need that for air flow. getting my feet wet on a mech mod Copper tub.

I am just thinking out loud.....would it work to solder a wire loop around the positive pin ???you still need to dremel some of the negative down to separate pos and neg .. what is b&m stand for ? rolf

Brick and Morter store lol, I am still having an issue pushing out the positive, im going to try again at home tonight, My boss yelled at me for having tools out at my desk - Comupter support company , so i scared a coworker when my leatherman went flying,,,, Ooops
Not sure what you mean by needing air flow through the connector (unless you're building a bottom feeder), but Madvapes sells a 510 connector with a large hole in the middle:
510 Battery Connector, Gold, Large Hole
You could embed that into the copper tube cap (Drill a hole, press-fit, and secure with epoxy) and then screw the ego adapter into it. Or perhaps you could swap center pins with the ego adapter? I've think got one or two of these at home; I can give this a try if that would help.
Rolf, Madvapes also carries the 510-eGo adapter if you still need one.
When i test fit a Kanger EVOD into the connector and put my finger over the bottom hole i wasnt able to get any air thru it, Is this not normal?
I wouldn't think so. The eGo connectors (as well as most 510 I think) have slots along the rim of them, usually four. This is where the airflow stems from. Then again I've never used atties like the EVOD. It seems like I read somewhere about aligning the holes on atties like that with the holes or slots on the connector. Could be that the EVOD requires the unsealed connection, but that seems very impractical since most of the time those holes just end up inside a sealed tube. Not much air flow there.
I just tried my adapter in an EVOD, and plugged the end hole. I was able to draw air through it.
