Ego's are a good starter pv and you'll be probably be happy with it for quite a while. The instructions say to charge each battery for something like 8 hours before using them. I don't think many people bother and it doesn't really matter if you do. Li-ion batteries don't have a memory effect like nicads did. Most of us just put one battery on the charger and use the other while it charges. Switch batteries when the one on the charger finishes.

Dry burn is a method of bringing an atomizer back to life if it isn't working right. Sometimes old juice or impurities can clog things up a bit and dry burning can improve performance. To do it just hold the button down while watching the coil inside the atomizer. When it gets red hot release the button. Do this a couple of times and it might help. I avoid dry burning because it can shorten the life of the atomizer.

Any vets got any advice? Should I charge the battery? Also can someone elaborate on what a dry burn is? I'm super excited to be getting this model! Can't wait to try it later today! But am still completely new to this life style and terminology :)

Didja get a 2 e-cig kit? Throw one on the charger and start playing with the other one! Chances are both the batteries will have some charge in them when they arrive.

I don't know what Joye is doing now, but when I got my eGo kit last April they were still including very outdated instructions telling you to charge the batteries for 8 hours before the first use. Those instructions are not relevant to current battery technology and I have no idea why Joye still hasn't updated that info. When your charger LED turns to green they are good to go. A partial charge won't hurt anything either.

A dry burn is in your future. It's not relevant to starting out. It's what you do as part of the atty cleaning process. Basically, you run the atty on the battery with no liquid to burn off residue that accumulates on the heating coil. You need to be careful doing this: Dry burning too long - holding the battery button on for too long - can overheat the atty and pop the coil. Less is more when first approaching this. A fast 5 count and release the button. And repeat...

Whatever you do, don't forget to blow out the "priming" fluid in the atty before you start. The stuff tastes nasty when vaped. Most sellers include a basic "how to begin" instructions sheet with a kit. If you didn't get one come back and ask any more questions.

And don't forget to enjoy! Welcome.
