Just minutes ago I finally placed orders for some supplies to try my hand at mixing. I've been wanting to try this for awhile now, but put it off till now.

Here is what I ordered.

Syringes in various sizes, some funnels and pipettes, a couple of empty bottles in various sizes. I plan on using the 1 oz glass bottles for holding the high-strength nic juice before mixing (rather than trying to pour out of a large jug), and using the plastic 1 oz dropper bottles for the PG and/or VG. I will then use the smaller bottles for the actual mixing and to drip from. I got these supplies from ecigexpress.com.

I placed my order for nic juice and the PG and VG from xtremevaping.com. I got all 3 in 125 ml jugs. The nic juice is 50 mg/ml which I plan on cutting to 16 or so. I started to get 36 mg/ml but for only $3.50 more I got the 50mg.

I just realized that the only thing I haven't ordered was the individual flavorings. Oh well, that's gotta wait till payday. Luckily that's not too far away. Plus, that'll give me time to re-read all the threads on mixing and recipes, and to prepare my mad scientist lab.

Question for those that are more experienced...is it better/easier to transfer from larger bottle to mixing bottle using a syringe, pipette, or by drops. I'll probably only mix up maybe a 5ml bottle or so at one time.

glad to see you and the 'ol lady doing your own thing bro. best thing I like for personal stuff is true flavors form the best, best flavors are from italy. keep mixing and playing. I use syringes for everything, it helps in exacting quantities to the proper levels. electronic stirrers truly help to get the mix just right but a bit expensive for average user. still cheaper then analog smokes :)

If you are transferring for storage purposes, a funnel works best.

If you are transferring amounts for your mix, the syringe would be the way to go.

For flavorings I recommend FlavourArt. They are stronger than the other popular brands, meaning you need less drops to get more flavor. They are also well-reviewed by members of this board, especially for their tobacco flavors.

Thanks. I guess it'll be mostly trial and error at first till I get into a routine that works for me.

I was actually looking at the FlavourArt ones. Is libertyflights the only place to get them here in the states. It seemed like if ordered from the flavourart site itself there was extra charges in addition to the shipping from Italy.

I read that even counting drops a syringe works best due to a more consistent drop size. Use a couple of syringes for nic/flavoring or combo of pipette/syringe for flavor and nic juice to avoid cross contamination.

When done with syringes I splash a little vodka into a glass and force flush the syringes many times so I can use each a few times. Recap and place used one in a tall glass jar with lid. Probably toss them if I notice any gunk buildup or liquid creeping past the plunger. All I have are the 12cc size which makes pulling a large amount easy. Need to pickup some 3ml sizes for small amounts or injecting into carts.

For small batches you could mix into a small like 10ml graduated cylinder to keep track of quantity. Mine has graduations in 0.10 ml increments. Home science tools is where I got the cylinders in 10, 50, and 100 ml sizes.

As for flavoring use this code www.happyvaper.com "VAPEHAPPY" 15% off. Makes it cheaper. I have some Capellas stuff I just received but wanted to try the Flavourart from Happy Vaper since all I have used so far is Loranns.

Thanks for the discount code. That may be the deciding factor on where I order from.

I think the syringes I got on order are 3, 5, and 10 ml sizes. I was planning on using 1 syringe/pipette for each type of liquid...(nic, VG, PG) to avoid cross-contamination as suggested. Didn't think of the after-use storage of supplies. Haven't gotten that far yet, lol. Thanks for your tip of using a glass jar.

Will hafta get some 'cheap' vodka tho, since I'm not too willing to part with my Crystal Head for use other than my personal consumption.

I hear ya aristocrat for cleaning my stoli is for medicinal use. :p. If your state has everclear in the ridiculous 190 proof would probably even be better if the price is right.

1 US dollar is worth about 1.03 Canadian dollars. All of their prices, including shipping, are listed as CAD (Canadian dollars). You can use Visa, MasterCard, or American Express if you're in America and they will convert it for you free. If you buy $20 of stuff there in CAD, it will really cost about $19.30 USD.
