Depends on the operators level of experience with PV's.... If asked, just say exactly what it is.. Of course, you might have to dumb it down some and say it's an e-cigarette... :?:

Thanks. I may just put everything in checked luggage. I won't need it on the plane anyway.

Side question, has anyone ever vaped in an airport? Do you go to the smoking area or?

I recently flew to London, then to Paris, and finally back home to the US. I had 2 eVics in a tray, and 2 U-DCT carto tanks along with a 30mL glass bottle of juice in a quart-sized ziplock bag. I had another 30mL of juice in a checked luggage. I was prepared for questions from the TSA, but I didn't get any. I guess these things must be fairly common, and the TSA is aware of them.

But I do wonder... how could they tell that I didn't have a detonation device or such? Is it a real security issue?

Anyway, be warned that, at least in my case, the carto tanks leaked and the ziplock bag became rather messy. I'm not sure whether it's caused by the pressure drops or vibrations of the plane.

In more than 3 years, traveling 2-3 times a year, I've never had difficulty carrying on vaping supplies. Liquids in your quart size carry on baggies, the rest of your liquids in checked bags.

BUT (double check this with the TSA regs) I think you have to carry on batteries - i don't think they're allowed in checked baggage.

By batteries do you mean like 18650's etc or ego type or both?

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prohibits loose lithium batteries from being transported in checked baggage.

Whether or not this applies to e-cig batteries may be debatable. Most e-cigs are powered by lithium ion or safe chemistry batteries, i don't know whether or not they count. I carry on rather than check because i don't really want to get into that debate with TSA as I'm trying to check my baggage.

Yep, flown to Europe several times and also take short US trips quite often. The worst thing that has happened to me is I was asked to demonstrate my PV, which turned out quite well in the end! Quite often (80%+ of the time) I am asked what it is and after explaining it to TSA no issues. I have noticed that when I traveled with a couple of Ego twists I haven't been bothered. But when I have taken one of my bigger mods they almost always ask me. I guess they look more intimidating?

I took my ego-t on a trip to Dallas from Florida and had no issues, also was able to smoke in airport and on the plane with no questions. BUT, I am very careful with 'smoke' coming out, I usually just hold in in for a few seconds longer than normal and no smoke comes out at all- I do it in college classes all the time- most people just think I am playing with a pen lol. I had a friend I have known for almost a year notice smoke come out the other day when we were outside and she had no idea I had been smoking for the last year!

I think the issues come up when people blow an excess of vapor out and it can be mistaken for actual smoke. As long as you are not obnoxious with it I don't see any problem personally.
