GG Ithaka non resistance wire

Hi. I'm digging out my old ithaka and thinking to rebuilt the coil But I have the problem to find a non resistance wire. Is it OK to use nickel 200 with ss 316L wire?

What is the AWG of the Ni200?
What AWG of 316 are you considering? 29/30/32?

NR-R-NR wires and coils can still be found...

Or, you could look into building/buying a wire spot welder.

Or, just use very long resistance wire leads.

Almost all commercial coils are NR-R-NR, and Ni200 is typically the NR part of the equation.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have 26 awg of 316L. Thinking to get the same size of nickel 200, 26 awg. Or I need to use smaller size like 30 awg?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I still have a lot of khantal and ss left, so I'm not going to get those pre-welded wire. If nickel 200 can be use, then i will try to built the n200 - ss 316L - n200 wire, and see how it's going.

Honestly, I'm not sure that wire will "fit" in Ithaka.
Give it a try, but you may need much thinner wire.

Man it's been years since I used R & NR wires...my gg Penelope use that. I cannot however remember what I used, maybe kanthal and silver wire?

Yes it was kanthal and pure silver wire but no good with the Zapper .

My nikel 200 arrive and just complete the rebuilt. 0.9ohm ss316L with nickel 200. Temperature mode not working though. Good flavor but less cloud. Wonder Gg still doing the ithaka update part or not? Its not easy to built ithaka coil with NR wire. XD
