GG Penelope, Ody Drip Single Mesh Coil.

I made this quick easy to do video for the folks that want to know how to setup a single Mesh Coil for Penelope and Odysseus. These rebuild able atomizer can take anything I throw at it and so far Imeo has not let me down with his products.

The vapor is rich and so is flavor. I love the use of Ody Drip as well as Penelope. I do prefer my dual coils for added heat but I wanted to keep this video very simple to do I'll be sure to make a video on how I do dual mesh coil at anther date. I give a demo on it using a different device which can be found on my you tube channel E-Cig vape.

AeroVapor this should help ya if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

LIVE HARD & VAPEHARD!!!!!

Someone on youtube asked me why I don't use Mesh and silica. Well, I actually have. I used it in so many ways. As some of you may recall I did a vid on dual mesh coil using mesh as resister wires. Flavor was different that's for sure very pleasing but not very stable. I played using 1 and 2, 1.5mm wicks on the base of ceramic going down channel and mesh on top. This didn't give me good results in flavor it vaped fine no burn just flavor was a combination what i taste with silica and mesh together. Then i tried silica wick inside mesh and that way was nice it gave netter results than using silica alone on base and channel. Yet I wanted more more and more.

As a tip i did notice a huge different in taste if you leave mesh with the internal channel open aprox size 1.5mm as I shown in video and outer diameter 3.0 mm-3.5mm vs having internal mesh channel closed. somehow the juice doesn't flow directly to is as good then it will result a taste of dry metal burn taste vs a good vape taste.

Then I said lets just do mesh by it self. After a couple of weeks on using mesh alone it works beautifully. In my opinion The taste was like 50 - 75 percent improvement vs the use with silica.

Great video! What type of wire and what size are you using?

I'm using Nichrome .16mm with nickel .16mm

I do use kanthal but in this video i use the one i listed above.

Size of Mesh can be 3mm-3.5mm with a inner channel of atleast 1mm-1.5mm enough to stick needle end through it as I show in video.

After the wick has been oxidize you cut mesh to around:

1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch.
1.27 cm by 6.35cm

It doesn't have to be perfect because after the pg quench and you wrap the coil and its mounted on Ceramic assembly I cut the edges off so no mesh is exposed past the channels. You don't want mesh to make any friction on mouthpiece/juice control. This will help and avoid any possibility of hot spots and shorts.

When i oxidize mesh I prepare a full 3inch x 2inch. I torch it as it flat for a few minutes on each side. then I inspect it and cut a tiny thin layer all around to make sure no hanging threads are sticking out. The I torch edges for a 2 minutes. After that I form a big circle then I roll one direction slowly. as I keep rolling the diameter gets smaller and smaller. This will leave a inner channel diameter hollow and open. Its important to have that open so juice can flow there. Now if you feel it may have shrunk the inside diameter you can keep putting a needle or paper clip inside to see if it travels smoothly. If it does then continue on rolling to reduce the outer diameter.

Once its 3.0 -3.5 mm outer diameter its ready to quench in pg solution. I soak it in pg use a lighter no torch. I let fire burn out, repeat process 4-5 times.

After that cut out the size you need for your ceramic assembly coil it up and place it on your ceramic assembly. Cut edges so no exposing mesh is left hanging outside metal assembly. You want to avoid juice control from touching mesh.

The rest of the mesh can be stored in a zip lock bag with PG solution for later use. Its good to leave mesh wet with PG that way its a clean solution and stays oxidize.

I have to say that despite the fact that I do use SS mesh in my genesis type atties I am very apprehensive. As a lot of you will know most moders have been using surgical grade 316L Stainless Steel because it's safer. Why is it safer well simply because some other grades of stainless contain lead which is a serious health hazard. My apprehension with the SS mesh is simple, is it 316L???? I seriously doubt it. So we spend a crap load of money to buy the best mod/atty made of the best SS and then get a dubious SS mesh which we inhale without knowing what it's made of.

Thanks for the video Bish.
I did a mesh wick like yours for my Penelope last night. After a ml or two it really tastes great. I was afraid it might be prone to leaking since the channels are open, but so far i have had no leaks.
I tried building a mesh wick right after i got the Penelope, but that didn't work at all so i've been using silica wick ever since.

I can't wait to see what your gonna cook up for the Iatty.
I've been running mesh on my Iatties for a long time, but i'm sure you're going to come up with something new/better/different :)

I like it VERY much :D

I've been running mesh on the Iatty for some time. Lorderos has a tutorial here:

You route the mesh through the channels in the plastic the same way you route silica. You just need a couple of pieces of silica to isolate the mesh from the NR-wires (and maybe also to isolate from the cap). I have used that method, and also running the mesh in teflon tubing to prevent shorting.
Both work quite well, but i would rather do away with silica and teflon if possible.
