Giving it another go (and 801 PCC question)

I joined these forums many months ago after my first successful stint with vaping. After 9 months or so I slipped back into rolling cigarettes for half a year but I have recently taken up vaping again and had the same ease and success as the first time around.

Having said that, I went through many different models the first time and even built a nicostick or two until I finally landed on the 801 with cartomizers as the best so far (Ego, 510, 901, 401, 808, etc..). I prefer auto batteries and whistle tips and nothing has the flavor of an 801 with Johnson Creeks Swiss Dark. The last piece of this was when I finally discovered that if I use a 801 -> 901 adapter and then a 901 -> 801 adapter I get the perfect airflow. 801s can be very tough draws otherwise. Absurd, I know.

So I was poking around earlier today and I thought, its been over a year, maybe there are finally some 801 pccs around. And lo and behold I discover this:

DSE801 PCC charge case E- Cigarette with LCD Battery Indicator products, buy DSE801 PCC charge case E- Cigarette with LCD Battery Indicator products from alibaba.com

Now, this is just a site for suppliers to get product from manufacturers as far as I can tell. I'm no supplier and I don't need 10 of these things. I haven't found a single supplier who carries these but someone must, somewhere...

Any suggestions? I just spent an inordinate amount of time googling around and have only found the link above and other similar ones on tradekey and etc. How would I go about discovering where to pick one of these up? Is it hopeless? :|

Its not a big deal of course, but the lack of a pcc is the one thing I don't like about the 801.

Hi mudlark. Welcome back to the vaping scene :)
I have google'd it too, and my guess is that the pcc is not being produced/sold anymore. What you have left is the manufactorer's stock. For instance Totally Wicked used to have the PCC, but they are not re-stocking as it seems.
It's good that you have a favourite, so stick to that. What are alternatives ?
1) Get a # of batteries to carry in a separate case, as a backup. Some additional sets will give you >1 chargers.
2) Get another (901) PCC and use adapter to connect battery.
3) Get a 901 Riva battery or two (some on sale these days i have the notion of...) - two will power you about the same as a PCC (2x900 mah vs. 1950 mah).

This site have some sale on 801 stuff, including a std. carry case. You'd make life easier on yourself if you'd start liking manual batteries.. :?:
Don't give up hope, just give up a PCC (or get 10):vapor:

Welcome back to vaping mudlark!

Dropemcigs has given you some good advice imo. One other option you may want to consider is upgrading to a mod. Yes it will be bigger than a standard battery but that is the only downside as far as I'm concerned. A mod using an 18650 battery could let you vape for 2 days on a single charge, no pcc or extra batteries needed!

I do have an 801 mod, the vp2 as well as a few homemade box mods. Mods are usually manual and heavy which defeats the purpose of whistle tips for me which is being able to hold the thing in your mouth for hands free vaping. Believe me, I understand the argument for manual batteries and etc, its just not my usage model. Autos are crap, but I do prefer them most of the time.

I do have some carrying cases which I use, I just miss the convenience of a good pcc. I used a 401 for a while and it was hands down the best pcc experience since it held 2 whole units (1 fully assembled) and 4 extra carts. It just wasn't a great model.

Nowadays I use 801 cartomizers and only carry around 2 with a small bottle of juice for topping off and 3 or 4 batteries. I can fit it all in a nice metal cigarette case I bought but it rattles around.

It's not a big deal, thanks for looking into it and confirming my suspicions.

Ah, I gotcha now!

I was thinking of doing the same with the auto battery and being able to use it hands free. I was kinda looking at a 510 or 808 auto mega battery. I may need to look at the 801 since you seem to have good luck with them.

If your ever in the market for another 801 mod you should look at the reo woodvil, probably my next mod (just got my reo grand in yesterday and already planning another purchase!)
