I actually know a guy who specializes in internet fraud and deals with things such as this on a daily basis. He says sometimes people who actually fall for this kind of thing that have been instructed to to pick up letters, certified checks etc. from banks or post offices have actually been arrested, proscecuted and sent to federal prison. Sad.
