Well, before I scored my Glas signature, a friend, had found some Glas clones, supposedly 1:1. I thought, "$27, why not? Worth a shot". Well at my own mistake I ended up having to wait longer to get it as it shipped to my previous address because I hadn't changed my info on PayPal.
Anyways, I ended up with an authentic first. Which I absolutely love. Today the clone came in, opened it up, black box, Glas on the top just like my real one, opened it up, there it is 18500 mod, only the mod and a spare keeper ring for the switch. No pouch, no certificate, none of the extras, which I see as a good thing, at least they aren't trying to pass it off completely. There was also a little white box that came with it, opened it up, the body tube for the 18650 battery. Cool.
Put the end caps on the 650 tube, tossed in a Sony vtc4, put my Nauti on it, closest atty at the moment, twisted the lock ring..... wait a second, not smooth, not rough, but not smooth, ok, $27, fair enough, same twist as the real deal, same look. Not too bad.
Pressed the button, has a bit longer throw, but not bad. Hit my Nauti, hits pretty hard, not as hard as the original, but for a clone....hard. nice.
Ok, let's compare, so I take the clone and Sig, and try out and see the differences. See for yourself.
Ok close, not perfect, but closer than I thought, figured I'd open it up and find your typical switch and top cap, nope, they actually tried to copy the Glas, switch is magnetic with ball bearing twist. Has a piece of glass on the bottom of the switch (I assume is glass, plexi, something).
Let check the threads, they feel ok, not bad at all... hey. The threads match! Interesting.
So..... is it 1:1? Eh, close but not exact. Is it worth the price? I'd have been happy with it if I'd have paid twice the price. I'll definitely hold on to it, use it for work and play so I can keep my Sig safe at home as my home vape. I know a lot of you don't like the clones. But they are here, people are buying them, nothing we can do about it, not really, and I'd rather have a $27 clone that performs decently with me at work drop on the floor than my $350 Sig. Ya know?
Yeah it's a decent mod, much like the Yosen zero clone. Better than most, not an original, but for the budget minded or el-cheapo folks, it's a steal.
