They are the best investment I have made but they are a bit pricey. I bought a 10 ml and 25 ml pump. The change I would make is to get a 2 ml pump instead of the 25ml.
They make measuring very easy. The downside is storing them. Each pipette is around 12 inches long.

Did you get the Mohr? I ended up buying the 10ml and 2ml pump to go with the 5 ml and the 1 ml pipettes. I bought from Home Science Tools | Microscopes, Chemistry Supplies, Biology Supplies. I went there initially to buy Boston rounds because of their flat shipping rate.... ;) They were recommended from a forum member.

Hmm, Round Rock, huh? I live in Austin.

I get mine from Amazon. I use a 2ml and 10ml pumps. For pipettes I like the 10ml.While these pipettes are all 12" except the Mohr I have cut a few in half by scoring them with a Dremel. It's easy if you have one available. I got tired of fighting the long 12" tubes. They work great for fast precise measuring. Only bad part is working with vg. There is a way around that as well. With great care I grabbed the very tip of the pipette with a cloth and gripped the very tip with a pair of pliars and snapped it off. Worth a try I think.

I checked my invoice and I did get the 10ml pipette as well. So how long is the Mohr? All three of mine have this brand. I was watching a couple youtube videos re: care and use (still astounded at all the info available) and it was stressed that the pipettes need to be pre-wetted- by both distilled water and the solution to be measured (3x). That's fine, but the educator stated that to wet, the solution must reach to the point of that will be used while measuring.

I get that to use these, you must take the difference between the final volume and the initial volume-- so you pull higher than you actually need. If I'm using 6 ml flavor samples, do I have enough to reach the level needed?

Does this even make sense? Is it necessary to pre-wet with both water and the flavor?

Sorry for all the questions. I appreciate your input.

I'm assuming what the video is refering to as far pre wetting is "priming" the tube. These tubes are mostly[not to us] disposable items. I have checked volume with graduations of 1ml,5ml and 10ml and never noticed ant fluctuation.
The samples of temp. purely make all liquids the same viscosity I'm thinking.

Awesome - I will have to get a couple 1ml, 5ml and maybe a 10ml from the home science website, in addition to a bunch of glass bottles.. that should lessen then shipping cost! I did just buy a bunch of syringes, though.. Not sure how much I will use those if I can get more accurate results with these (at least under 10ml)
To those of you who use these, do you still use syringes?

I do depending on the size of the batch. Plus it is always great to have back ups. The glass pipettes don't give you a second chance if dropped banged or anything else really.

Would the pipette just not draw up vg at all? I use primarily vg, but I suppose I could just use the pipettes for flavors.. I'm sure they would come in handy for mixed flavors in vg.. I do have a dremel though, so I could probably widen the hole fairly easily if I wanted to make vg only pipettes..

Pretty neat little store. Don't forget the graduated cylinders.

I have syringes- most of them go up in .2 increments and that throws me off a bit. I am not a DIY role model for several reasons: 1) have only been doing this for 3 weeks, 2) I am insanely curious about trying complicated gadgets and 3) I LOVE to buy.

Don't try to stop or help me; I'll just take you down with me.

I do as well I was just warning as to how slow the vg will move in a pipette. That's why I added the snapped tip part. I vape some 30/70 mixes so use that tip for the vg. You'll love them.

Awesome, as long as it will actually work with vg, I can take the extra time to let it fill.. Worst case scenario I will grind the top down a bit. Thanks!

Yeah I would get graduated cylinders but I feel like liquid, especially vg, would just stick to the side of the glass and be a pain to get it all out - what are your thought?

I couldn't agree more. I use them with higher pg mixes thou. My vg goes straight into a glass finished bottle.
