Is there a difference between the 2 types. Any gain on better vaping and taste between the 2. Im about to pull the plug on my 1st Provari 2 mini and still deciding what tank to get from the:

or

Looking to get if the Glass Tanks are better for Taste and vaping

Thanks in advance

I don't understand why it isn't a common option, or at least they switch to polypropylene. I like using the new Vision stardusts but they still use the old crappy plastic and I have to be mindful of what juice goes in. I think the only ones are the bigger vivi nova and the smok titan/screw tank. I know you have the option on the novas for the metal tank, but it's nice to see how much juice is left at a glance.

I like cinnamon, so I killed a Stardust before I knew better. I then got a vivi mini nova and the thread around the top, where the cap screws in, melted. I just got a glass/prex tank from IBTanked and I LOVE it. I use an eGo, so it's really nice to have a little tank that's streamlined. I shied away from glass before because they looked big and clumsy. The hits have been amazing! The best I've had so far.

ETA: I didn't get a metal tube because I couldn't see the juice and I read threads about them leaking sometimes.

I have no polycarbonate tubed tanks, only pyrex and polypropylene. Well, that's not entirely true, just yet. I do have the Pro-V Cartomator SS like in your pic, which uses a polycarbonate tube. I have a blue pyrex tube ($15) made by Siam Mods and sold by Clouds of Vapor on its way as we speak that is supposed to fit the Pro-V tank.

As the previous posters have said, polycarbonate is vulnerable to cracking and/or melting by certain flavors of e-juice, notably cinnamon and citrus flavors. I've avoided products that use polycarb since I had a clearomizer melt in my hands after filling it with strawberry-lemonade e-juice. I also believe that all juices leach polycarbonate over time, but I can not prove it.

Polypropylene is said to be safe with the "harsh" flavors, and after using some of these juices in polypro tanks, I've not had any issues. I firmly believe pyrex glass is the way to go and will have a much larger presence in the vaping community if the e-cig manufacturers listen to their customers. Pyrex is a superior and totally inert substance that will not react adversely with e-juices.

As I mentioned above, I do have the Pro-V tank. It's certainly a well made tank, it's only short-coming being that it uses a polycarb tube. I'd been on a search for a pyrex tube that would fit it and ECF buddy chohan confirmed in his post here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/314551-quest-glass-pyrex-tanks-27.html that the Siam Mods pyrex tubes will indeed fit. COV has clear, blue sapphire, and green pyrex tubes for sale. Siam Mods - Glass Tanks

I've been trying to find info on the Cirrus tanks for a couple of months now. From what I have been able to find out is that they are made and sold only by a few local vapeshops in California. They have the beginnings of a website that was not yet working the last time I checked. I really like the looks of these tanks. Not sure of the endcap material used, but allegedly the tubes are available in polycarbonate or pyrex. I heard rumors that these were being sold for as much as $75, which seems pretty steep, but I have not been able to confirm any prices.

A Pro-V cartomator with a $15 Siam Mods pyrex tube from COV might be possibly competitive price-wise with a pyrex Cirrus tank, so the choice would be which one do you think would look best on your Provari mini? It looks like the Cirrus tanks should be available in your neck of the woods.

If the original poster has any details on the Cirrus tanks, please share. Should you get the Cirrus tank, we all expect a complete review. :p

i cant wait to get my IBTanks. i got a tall and a short 19mm on the way. i WAS a bit worried about the same area melting that melted on your vivi, but if youve had no issues, i probably wont either. because after all, it wasnt the tank body that you had a problem with, it was the seal. i think that IBTanked is mindful of the fact that most folks that want a glass tank are using it because they are using a juice that would melt or etch a poly tank and use better seals than a poly tank. maybe this is just wishful thinking. what are your thoughts on this baditiue??

I've had brief conversations with OCD (from IBTanked) on the forums and thru PM's. He's extremely knowledgeable about pyrex. For example, once he was commenting about a high profile RBA manufacturer using quartz glass instead of pyrex in their device, and how it was needlessly more expensive and overkill. I myself know nothing about glass except that I like to put my e-liquids in them. lol.

He came across as someone who knows what he is doing. He also takes great pride in the quality of his tanks, and has asked me about my opinion of his tanks compared to others as he knows that I have several pyrex tanks from multiple suppliers. I know he reads the forums here. I think he has quickly become a strong force with his line of pyrex tanks with quality comparable to the very finest available in the market.

I haven't taken the mini apart, but it appears that the tube might be discolored; that wouldn't affect the performance though. Even with the threads melted, it was only on the top part (if that makes sense). Once I got it centered and part of the way down, it tightened just fine. It didn't leak. The caps on the IBTanked tank are really thick, so I don't think there will be any issues. Also, there are 2 O-rings, neither of which touch the juice (only part of the cap does), so even if it did react I doubt it would leak.

If Baditude hasn't mentioned it before, you should really get a "Slap Yo' Mama" from Big Daddy Vapors - it's fabulous!

Ok been looking at tanks. maybe an IBTanked it is. No one else has want I want. and I'm not paying that much for a phiniac. Beautiful yes. But like a provari it's just way to much for now.
I'm still learning.

I switched to glass after my diy bananna fogged up my polycarb smoktechs.

I have a phiniac, a pro v and the 19mm xl from ibtanked.

The phiniac is one of my favorites but yes, sorta pricey.
The pro v looks great but for the price that booger should come with a pyrex tube.
My IBtanked is a great tank for the price and I have zero complaints. I think you'll be well satisfied. I love my goober fish.:D

that is awesome to hear :) i am pleased to know that the caps take the brunt of the juice-bearing. AND theres two sets of o-rings (btw why dont they just call them "rings?" arent all rings in the shape of an O? lol). fantastic. i ended up adding some extra Rings ;) to my order just to be safe. i didnt want to be caught out ringless in th eevent of a system failure.

They sent 4 extra rings (maybe called "O," because phones & bells ring?) with my order, so that may be their standard practice.

I took the mini apart...YIKES! This is what a month of cinnamon did to a vivi mini nova. It started out looking like the one next to it. I have to give it credit though, despite the torture it didn't leak.
